thinking about the impact eragon had on murtagh, arya, roran, nasuada and orik when he left. like murtagh is convulsing at any mention of his name, arya had to be ripped off the ship by her dragon so she wouldn’t stay with him and she keeps all his fairths and letters, roran fell to his goddamn knees in a walmart and howled at his departure, nasuada sobbed her heart out when her friend and vassal left and is trying so hard to keep her rebellious kingdom afloat without him, orik is probably still at hedarth waiting for him to come back with a brisket… eragon really is the #onethatgotaway!!!!!

Last night I managed to convince my DnD group that the collective noun for dragons is a "thunder" and that it was an established thing in fantasy despite the fact that the phrase "a thunder of dragons" was only used once in Eragon and goddamn did I feel powerful.

Lol, enough with the jokes, here's my art of our beloved Roran. I made it a little different this time and did something more sketchy and simple so it wouldn't take so long to deliver new art to you all.

Probably some of you will find the appearance strange at first. I'll explain the reason for this design in the visual references. I wanted to portray him before his characteristic beard at the beginning of the first book and throughout the second, because even searching I couldn't find much art portraying him like that, so I thought it would be nice to make it different. However, don't worry, because I will also do art of "Strong Hammer" in the future.

Even so, I hope you like how it turned out and also like the little hint in Katrina's design!

I can't stop thinking about the Hail Mary actually having a bunch of vacuumed packed seeds on board for potential research purposes in case the crew actually did finish their mission but not enough resources on board to grow more than a few pots of small things.

And then Grace and Rocky get to Erid years later and the big problem is making the soil able to grow earth plants rather than figuring out an eridian made human food source and so they do figure it out and Grace helps a ton but once that's finished all that's left is the actual gardening and Grace HATESSS gardening 😭😭😭😭

Like maybe the work is too slow and too repetitive for him idk it's a chore like laundry or dishes rather than something he looks forward to.

And Simon notices that he leaves twice at the same time almost every day once in the morning where he looks excited (he's going to teach class) and once after lunch where he looks a little annoyed (he's going to check on the gardens)

And Simon is like okay where r u going and grace tells him and shows him the gardens and it's obviously mind blowing to Simon having only seen some greenhouses on Mars and the last tree. He gets SO invested in gardening and he loves it and it becomes his big role on Erid and He finally feels like he can do something for Grace in return 😭😭😭😭 and it happens to be something that has a big role in healing him being able to create smth rather than destroy it but I gotta go

Can someone tell me why Eragon is always passing out in the first book. Like he is knocked unconscious more than the average action/fantasy protagonist, and he’s ALWAYS waking up somewhere unfamiliar. He’s got four brain cells left and sahpira has to hold them for him because he undergoes a full factory reset at least once a week.
