“For a little woman you sure pack a punch...”
@aeducxn
“ do i need a reason ? ” the word brand threatened to slip from her lips but she caught herself. “ I mean I just wish to get to know you. I rarely see other dwarves. “
Stone, the only thing worse than Orzammar dwarves are Orzammar nobles. “Try the Merchant’s Guild?” A huff as she shoulders her maul. “Anythin’ specific you want t’ know?”
@aeducxn liked for a lyric starter
“I’m free to go back on my own, but is it still a home when you're all alone?”
it’s dark, though she has no problem navigating. of course, these are her mountains. the camp is lit; fire. a dwarf, it seems. an interesting race. small, but strong. she remains in the shadows, for a time, watching. however, curiosity can be a dangerous thing.
in time, her form enters the firelight, bow slung across her back.
‘You’re a long way from your caves, Mountain-Child.’
@aeducxn ll short starters ll accepting.
“Data--” A rasped voice carried weakly on the Elf’s approach, stride shivering with each step. As the Dalish finally met her goal, staring down at the Warden with blurring eyes, it might become apparent her voice was the only part of her left relatively unravaged by-- “Oghren told me Dwarves actually DRINK THIS regularly. He’s lying. Tell me he’s LYING.”
@4educan:
"Funny how it works that way, isn't it?" His reply is full of warmth, and Alistair grins over at Kaja for a moment. He moves towards the dwarf, finding some space next to her so he can sit next to her and look out before them.
"I don't know how you feel, but I went through my whole life just… wanting to find a home. Be part of something where I finally felt welcome. Turns out it wasn't a place in the end at all." Alistair lets out a chuckle and shakes his head, exasperated with his own ridiculous notion.
But he can't help himself, continuing. "And now… Now I feel like every day I'm a little bit closer, and a little bit farther from it all over again."
No, this is ridiculous. Alistair always forgets that the woman next to him has lost so much more than he has, that he shouldn't assume she feels the same or misses the same or wanted the same. She could very well be legitimately missing her own home, or somewhere other than here. "But that's silly," he finally offers as a way to dismiss himself. "What… what did you mean by it?"
(for the gift meme) a new sliverite spear since she over heard oghren calling him a little pike twirler.

"Wow, where did you - ?” He’s definitely a pike twirler! Gladly, Alistair takes the weapon and immediately twirls it around between his fingers and over his wrist and around his waist real quick. He’s clearly proficient, hours spent by the water most definitely twirling his pike around and without shame. He finishes in a comfortable pose and beams at her, clearly pleased with himself and with his skill. “How did you know I had been working on this?”
He’s totally forgotten that horrible, horrible conversation with the drunk dwarf, thankfully.
Alistair approves (+10)
Gives alistair some kind of neat gem she found.

It really is a neat gem, one that Alistair finds himself admiring for a while as it rolls around in his hand. He’s not sure why Data thought of him with the gem but he can’t help but feel a little flattered. Honestly the blond isn’t sure exactly what the dwarf thinks of him at any given moment, but this feels like proof enough that it’s not all bad, at the very least. He’s really come to respect her, and he hopes this is a sign that she’s starting to feel the same way.
But because he can’t help himself, Alistair feels a small grin spread across his cheeks. “This isn’t you trying to tell me that you think I’m a beautiful rock, is it?” He does come off kind of dumb sometimes, he knows. But he also can’t help but think of the small flower that’s been in his pack a while, either.
