it’s been five years since the outbreak began and you’ve made it this far. all of you have, in some way, heard about the american english linguistics academy since the end of the world, situated in baltimore, maryland. for the first time in almost two years, the four most prevalent factions on the eastern seaboard and a majority of loners are within mere miles of one another.
each faction has been approached by a pair of civilians who claim to have come from aela. they came armed with supplies: fresh fruits and vegetables, bandages, soap, medicines that haven’t been available in years. they had promises of running water, of real beds, of clean clothes, and every leader was given a choice: come and bring your people, or continue on without our help.
below the cut, there are details of how each faction is doing based on supplies. based on this information, individuals can decide whether or not they want to go to aela, or if whole factions will be going.
the collective → though they have the most people to feed and supplies to gather just based on the size of their group, members of the collective have been well taken care of. they have adequate food and water, though in the next few days if they don’t land on something big, rations are going to become a lot tighter.
the crowned → the crowned are kind of struggling, holding on to desperate wishes for more food and more water. aela seems like a good way to take a lot of issues off their plates and put some real food on them. the word of god can only sustain the body for so long.
the grave robbers → the grave robbers have been making a habit of taking from wherever they can find resources, including the collective’s own stores. either the guards aren’t doing their duty or the grave robbers raiders are just too good. hard problems call for hard solutions.
the militia → the militia are the ones who understand what it's like to suffer and why they have to do it. though there are some days where they might be hungrier than usual, their supplies are almost always at maximum capacity. their scouts are constantly on the look out for anything useful while their raiders are always quick to make a move once an order has been issued.
in the middle of the night, members from each of the factions were taken from their respective camps with seemingly no trace of where they might have gone. coming on the heels of the people from aela, there’s a likelihood that they could have just up and decided to go to sanctuary without informing the rest of the group. but is there something more sinister at play ?
under the cut, you’ll find the opinions of some of the missing on aela. this is divided but what each faction would know:
grave robbers
grave robbers know that their leader was not interested in the aela offer and would consider anyone who took the offer dead to them.
the grave robber’s second was quite the opposite, they were willing to experience aela and what they had to offer ( and then rob them blind of their supplies and dip out ).
one of their healers is also missing, but it was hard to make heads or tails of their opinions; they were very much willing to go along with whatever the majority deemed best and never voiced their own opinion.
the collective
one of the advisors has gone missing and that’s something has put their leader, lucas o’sullivan, on edge. for them to go missing after the way they’ve campaigned to not trust these people is something he finds hard to ignore.
one of their cooks and one of their hunters have also gone missing, though the two were always known outsiders and their disappearances could easily be chalked up to a lack of interest in staying with such a big group.
the militia
missing their leader, their second, and one of their healers that had been with them for months is a startling sight to wake up to. they are, without a doubt, the most severely affected faction and, while they have the resources to keep moving, do they have the numbers ?
the crowned
the crowned were also not unaffected by the losses, they lost a healer, a cook, and one of their patrol guards, who was on duty that night. this is likely to increase dissent in the group; joseph preaches about family and the importance of protecting one another, but three people have gone missing under his ever watchful eye.
