You DO realize feminism isn't a black & white case right? People can be an ally in some ways but have failings in others. It's being human - EVERYONE is problematic. You are. I am. He's done a lot for representation of women characters over the years - you're a kid, you didn't see Buffy during its first run, for example. It was groundbreaking. That doesn't = a get-out-of-jail free card for the rest of his career. But some subpar writing & editing doesn't negate what he's accomplished either.

I know everyone is problematic but I still don’t think whedon is a feminist, yeah he gave us badass women, but that’s it, they we’re just badass and that doesn’t say well written to me, and as for groundbreaking, well that doesn’t transalte as good and his writing in general to me is more, quirky dialogue than actual writing, I’m not saying it’s all bad and he is a hack writer(I like the avengers after all) but I think people give him way more credit than he deserves, and if u enjoy his films and shows, that’s good! I’m not gonna tell u that’s wrong, I just think he’s overrated and more than a bit mysoginistic

No, you're fine, I understand where you're coming from, I'm a Rush hardcore and I wasn't even born yet in 1982 but I find Police's "Behind My Camel" beating Rush's "YYZ" for Best Rock Instrumental to be completely preposterous. I'd be steamed too if my favorite band lost to something like that, I was just commenting on the people who were all "who the fuck is Steely Dan?" in 2000 (I was one of those at the time, but I like Steely Dan now), just like the people are all "who the fuck is Beck?" in 2015.
