Ash Princess x Pokemon AU || Pokemon Trainer Heron
It is not surprising that Heron has a fondness for flying-type Pokemon as he has been gifted by the gods with the Air Gift.
Shortly after discovering his Air Gift, he befriends a Rookidee, a feisty and territorial Pokemon. While he is a tall fellow, his first bird Pokemon is quite a tiny one. But despite being such, it will valiantly fight anyone, no matter the size and strength. And even if it loses, it can store its energy after the battle to grow stronger. He enjoys training with it.
Though Heron is quite impressed by his Rookidee, he immediately befriended another small bird Pokemon, Rowlet, whose softness matches his. However, it can launch powerful kicks and its feathers are as sharp as blades.
Not long after, he encounters a Taillow during his training. Like his Rookidee, Taillow fights against opponents, even powerful ones, and will not back down, showing how gutsy it is. And indeed, Taillow did not let Heron come off easily, which only made Heron want to capture it and prove that he, too, is gutsy.
With three flying-type Pokemon in his party and after some training with his Air Gift, he decides to earn flying-type badges.
He first sets out for the Zephyr Badge and after winning the battle, he may or may not have developed a crush on the gym leader adored by his townspeople as cool and handsome.
Next, he turns his eyes on getting the Feather Badge and after he does, the gym leader offers to train not only his Pokemon but also his use of the Air Gift further.
After some time, he follows a noisy cry in a forest. There, he finds a Staravia left on its own. He quickly takes it in and Staravia considers him and his friends its own flock. And it is known that a flock of Staravia are extremely territorial and would fiercely fight for their territory.
While with his friends, Artemisia and Blaise, he encounters a Pidgey and does not hesitate to capture it, who after much training, evolves into a Pidgeotto, a powerful flier that fiercely defends its territory.
Now equipped with four fierce and territorial Pokemon, he easily wins the last known flying-type badge, the Jet Badge, showcasing not only his strong Pokemon but also his mastery over his Air Gift.
He then aims to earn fighting-type badges next, to further prove how much he and his bird Pokemon are fighters. Successfully, he earns the Cobble Badge and the Rumble Badge.
Reluctantly, he goes for the Mine Badge. He initially did not want to do so as it would bring back terrible memories of him being forced to work in the mines after the Kalovaxian siege. Worse, it would remind him of the death of someone dear to him–Leonidas.
Yet, he persevered. And proved victorious, now owning six badges that symbolize his strength and power often unseen.
Together with Artemisia and Blaise, he sets out for the Trio Badge and earns it to prove that he is one of the three allies that his queen–and friend–trusts the most. Theodosia Eirene Houzzara.
On the way to his eighth badge, he encounters a large and extremely strong Braviary, known as the Valiant Pokemon with the hidden ability, Defiance. Out of all his Pokemon, Braviary perhaps reflect him the best as it can get extremely aggressive for noble reasons and would extremely dedicate itself to fiercely fight to help and protect its friends, earning the nickname, “hero of the skies.“
Furthermore, even if it is injured or its life is threatened, it would continue to fight, much like Heron.
Along with Artemisia, Blaise, and Theo–and more allies he has found along the way such as Søren and Erik–he garners the Rising Badge, showing his involvement in the revolution to take back his country from its merciless and tyrannical colonizers.
The time has come for little birds to fly.
This is a true aesthetic and I hate it
