@aethericsea | Ireneve sent: "Hey, there."
The enormously tall Elezen that Artemis had come to know from her visits to the stables was holding something in her long hands. Something red and sweet-smelling, bits of curly ribbon peeking out from under her fingers.
"You're looking about as lost as I feel. I thought you might like a treat -- to feel included, I mean."
Nev was doing a valiant job of fighting the temptation to shrivel under her hat. It was still obvious she would rather not be out and about, in the middle of so much fuss, but. This was what friends were for, right? Especially friends that felt as uniquely other as she did, secrets or not.
"It is now occurring to me that you may not even like sweets. You don't have to eat it. It's-- It wasn't too expensive. I think Mionne might have something more savory available inside. If you'd like."
She gave a short, bungled laugh. More of a sigh, really.
"Or we can pretend we don't speak Common and hide. That's an option, too."
As Gridania, or Eorzea itself, had not been her original home, the Hyur girl struggles and often becomes overwhelmed as she tries to learn and understand their cultures, which very much included Valentione's Day. She has gotten several simple errands and fetch quests out of it that were easy enough for her to work through and help out.
Unfortunately due to the said holiday, the city has gotten a lot of traffic as of late. Hanging her legs against the cliff ledge, Artemis has managed to slip away close enough to the Carline Canopy, but away from the Valentione's crowds to stare out in the distance. A quiet spot.
She isn’t fully sure of the purpose of the day other than her initial assumption that it is for lovers. Or maybe friends too, but Artemis isn’t fully sure if she had any given that Carlisle has made sure to give her a hard time adjusting as an outsider.
Hearing a voice from behind, Artemis turns around to see the awkward Elezen she recalls from her visits to the stables holding what seemed to be one of the sweet treats she has seen being commonly gifted. Blinking in surprise, she slowly stands up as the other anxiously rambles and approaches her.
“H-hey, it’s okay.” She carefully says as she accepts the gift with a genuine smile and is already unravelling the ribbon, “I like sweets. Thank you, I really appreciate it, Ireneve.” She pops a sweet into her mouth with quiet giggle.

in the exact same vein as starry's post -- pretty sure you're asleep SO
@aethericsea I can write a billion things positive about you but those would be endless and not fully related to roleplaying, so I will resist the urge to ramble.
So many people say 'oh xyz author is my inspiration', but you know me, I...don't read LMAO. You are my inspiration for writing, and have been since we were in high school. I know that you don't have a lot of spoons to do all the writing you want on every platform, but that doesn't change the fact that you are phenomenally talented, and any chance I get to share our writing or even just threads inspired by what we've discussed, I LEAP to do so. You make me so proud to be your chosen family. <3
There was something thrilling about having marked the famed Warrior of Light's flesh. Had the chirurgeons healed him? Could he yet see? So much of his blood had mingled with the soil, staining it. Staining him. The memory stirred a thunderous glee beneath his flesh. Down the length of his nose, he called to the familiar Viera: "Where is your 'brother' this day, Second Light?"
"None o' yer fuckin' concern!" she shouted back.
Her heart was slamming in her chest so hard it felt like her bones were rattling -- or maybe she was just trembling. Yugiri's plan had failed, and while Meiko hadn't been optimistic, knowing that she faced the same man that had laid waste to Rhalgr's Reach and bested her brother with ease was harrowing.
She wasn't going to run, but every survival instinct she had managed to accumulate in her lifetime wanted her to.
"Ye had yer fun bullyin' my wee brother, but now yer dealin' with me." Not that she was any stronger than Hiko, but this was all part of the distraction. If she couldn't get to assist Yugiri, she hoped the lass at least had the sense to get herself out of harm's way if she could get up.
Or maybe they were both going to die here. Who could say?
"So let's stop wastin' time an' try an' kill each other already!"
Fray is standing on a beach just a few yalms off of Mist's central paths. His head is helmetless, all of that braided and knotted hair left to poke whichever way it pleases. In fact, he's mostly bare, save some breezy shorts.
He seems content.
Still, he does look odd in so sunny a climate. Does he know he can go in the water? Does he fear scalding his feet on the sand? Maybe he needs a lemonade. That could be nice.
"Don't tell me you're one o'those Ishgard lads who don't know how t'swim." She'll throw him right in! Just like how she was raised! Although she'd keep him in the shallows, at least.
Eager to get into the water herself, she threw her arms over his shoulders and leaned into his back from behind, threatening to tip him over if she really wanted to.
"It'll be good for your arm, too. I mean, m'not a healer, but m'thinkin' it will," she reasoned out loud. "It'll be all floaty and shite. Less pressure on... oh, you know what I bloody mean. So let's go. Sidurgu an' Rielle'll be along any minute."
"Pray, repeat thyself for mine understanding?" - Uri
"I-- Urianger, are you fuckin' 'round?" She couldn't tell! In any other time in the past, she would have assumed he was completely innocent. But he had been frequenting Thancred's company as of late, so surely not. Whether it be by bad influence or having more in common than previously recognized, Meiko floundered in the moment.
Well. If he wanted an explanation.
"It's -- it's a sayin' back in Wadewick. There's a whole story shared by some o'the older sailors who swear Leviathan knocked their ship in half wi' his cock--"
