Shambler and Serket from Aethermancer?
Shambler - Aethermancer
A large, metallic crab with four white eyes. I particularly love that the metal carapace on its pincers is not contiguous, but is instead made of several plates with gaps between them, showing the red flesh underneath.
It has mastery over space, creating rifts in order to attack from afar, teleport or even copy its prior actions by manifesting a phantom of itself. A very cool powerset for a big crab covered in metal! It's always fun when an otherwise bulky and heavy creature gets an ability like this to make up for its slowness.
The only way I could think to improve this design would be giving it a crabbier face, but it's really good regardless.
yip yip I'm excited for aethermancer's early access
Monster Taming Direct on the 7th of September 10 AM EDT!
That's 16°Clock or 4 pm in German time lmao
got aethermancer the other day, and omg. this little guy has been my favourite since the demo. i am so joyous look at its memento sprite i will cry
Been putting in a lot time into the Aethermancer demo (same devs that made Monster Sanctuary) and enjoying it a lot. Was skeptical about the move from metroidvania to roguelite, but I'm learning I like a well done turn-based battle system no matter what genre it's in.
What really tickles my brain about the battle system is when you get a good build going and all the debuffs and passives proc and go off. Also, there's little to no "enemy is immune to xyz" fun policing, so far, so anything goes. Since their last game, there's been a huge bump up in visual fidelity in terms of design and animation and it's gorgeous and clean spritework.
It's going into early access a little too close to Hades II 1.0, which is also exciting, but don't sleep on Aethermancer!
Nosferatu doodle 🩸
I really enjoyed the Aethermancer demo, looking forward to the full release!
my thoughts after having played the aethermancer demo for a while
