since about mid-february i started keeping a running tally of how many times wrestlers have bitten someone on aew. it’s possible i’ve missed one or two, i’m just doing this for my own amusement, but i am very happy to report that last night mox reached double digits!
the tallies as i have them stand as follows:
Jon Moxley - 10
MJF - 5
Tomasso Ciampa - 4
Darby Allin - 4
Gabe Kidd - 3
Juice Robinson - 3
Christian Cage - 3
Toni Storm - 3
Brody King - 2
Wheeler Yuta - 2
Jack Perry - 2
Cash Wheeler - 2
Konosuke Takeshita - 1
Kevin Knight - 1
Matt Jackson - 1
Nick Jackson - 1
Mistico - 1⭐️ (my roommates said he deserved a star for biting someone through his mask)
Alex Windsor - 1
Ricochet - 1
Thekla - 1
Will Ospreay - 1
Lio Rush - 1
Daniel Garcia - 1
conclusions: give the women more screentime so they can bite more. although everyone could step it up, mox is running laps around the rest of the roster.
also im tagging this as aew bite awards so i can find it again and have a tag for updates
christian cage pulled himself up to tie with mjf for second, mjf then bit darby allin later on to reclaim his place, but now there are distinct 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places before getting into the ties. lio rush also moved up one, kris statlander is now on the board with 1, and jon moxley remains untouchable in first.
ive put my counts into a spreadsheet now for easier viewing, screenshot of that will be under a read more
(also if i missed any last night let me know, the stadium stampede was hard to track and i was very tired so im worried there was more biting in there i didnt see)
good month for biting enthusiasts, the women got some more biting in than usual which we love to see, and a bunch of newcomers to the list. some movement in the top three with christian catching up to mjf and lio rush rapidly rising through the ranks, but mox is still mox. spreadsheet below the cut :)
(also im giving up on tagging everyone individually there’s too many, im just tagging the people in/tied for the top 3)
