“Ok I’ll stop bothering you.”
Sigh. Finally that’s over. Clover could finally catch a breath after that. He was used to it, he told himself. He should have gotten used to it. Somehow Frisk never disappointed at being disappointing as a younger sibling.
…but to say that Frisk was always a disappointment. That would be incorrect, as much as Clover would claim in front of them.
He remembered the time he walked across the Ruins all by himself, wandering with his curiosity for the Old Home that monsters once lived before resettling.
You can imagine how scared Clover would have been when they heard a thundering noise somewhere, he tried to look for the source of the sound. Traversing across all the corridors and rooms, Clover eventually found themselves met with a sudden source of sunlight, and an unresponsive body laying on the flowers.
Of course he carried and ran as quickly as he could back to town. To his mind, it was a miracle that their heart was still beating, even as someone who had also fallen down. They would soon awake to a new reality and environment, along with monsters they never knew existed before, that someone would soon to be known as Frisk.
Frisk felt oddly comfortable around Clover, maybe from the fact that he was the only human in town. As the two slowly grew to know each other, he decided to take them in as step-siblings. Now they live with him every day rent free in the house AND in his mind. He would openly state that it was the worst decision of his life, yet he would never give them up for the world.
Annoyed? Always. Tired? Never.

“I AM NOT A COWARD!!! YOU ARE!”
“NUH UH!”
They went back and forth, which was how all the debates Frisk got into ended.
Frisk was known in school as the devil’s advocate. They would get into debates for the sake of getting into debate, mostly to entertain themselves. Teachers at first despised the act. Yet slowly the debates only made classes more memorable. Frisk slowly gained a reputation for taking extremely unconventional sides of a debate.
One day, Frisk and their teacher got into an argument during history lesson, which was about the revolution that gave birth to New Citadel. Frisk usually got away with arguing for the other side, but challenging the leader of the revolution, who was idolized in the town, and comparing him to the autocratic king was a really good way to get themselves into big trouble.
Ceroba, their legal guardian, was called in for this incident. After Ceroba negotiated to the best of her ability, Frisk was given a one-day external suspension. They didn’t change their rebellious stands, though they became more cautious about when to play devil’s advocate.
Clover wasn’t the most compliant either. For something he felt wrong about, he got to the bottom of it. He would argue and argue, even if he’s defeated, he will come back with new arguments, the cowboy simply never gives up. During when Frisk got in trouble, Clover helped defend Frisk, kind of in a defense attorney way. His arguments were dismissed and ignored, constantly.
The school wasn’t the most cooperative with Frisk and Clover’s antics, and often Ceroba had to be dragged into it one way or another.
They didn’t hate the humans per se, only seeing them as mildly annoying and VERY silly.
