A Familiar Face | Hyungseok & Taejun
How long had it been since he was away from Seoul? One, no two years? Taejun sighed as he turned off his car's ignition, handing the valet boy his car keys. The city seemed bigger than last time he'd seen it, more thrilling with the limitless chains of restaurants and nightclubs—fashion boutiques and even love hotels. The neon fluorescent lights shone so brightly trying to lure potential customers into throwing down some cold, hard cash towards inflating their businesses. Lewd posters of gravure models and female idol groups decorated the brick buildings at every corner becoming a part of the urban landscape. 'Seoul, how you've changed,' Taejun grabbed one of his luggage bags to hoist over his shoulder approaching the hotel while some bellhops helped him carry the rest of his belongings to the main lobby.
To be honest the place looked above the rest in luxury and looks alone—granted not a lot of places could compare to this when the time was nearing 4 o'clock in the morning. When Taejun had landed in Seoul that very afternoon, his old high school colleagues immediately sought the opportunity to take him to more places he could count on his fingers and toes. When it came to jumping from nightclub to nightclub, Taejun was ready to leave his rowdy ragtag group behind. It needn't be said, but Taejun was awfully tired and wanted to pass out in nothing short of his socks and boxers on a comfortable king-sized bed. What he didn't expect however was that very familiar voice calling out to him, "Hyung, what are you doing here?"
"... Hyungseok?" Taejun's face slowly spread into a widened smile. "No way," he approached the boy, reaching his hand forward to tousle Hyungseok's soft hair affectionately. "It's been so long... I didn't think I'd see you here," Taejun rested his hand atop Hyungseok's shoulder, staring at him as though he were imagining this chance encounter in his sleep-deprived state. There was so much he wanted to say—why they parted the way they did, the reason why he left—hell he wanted to tell Hyungseok everything. 'Shit, I'm so happy I can cry.'
