               she looked from side to side, taking                in where she actually was– far from                where she’d intended to end up. oh                well, irene had a general idea of                where she was. 

                                     “ i haven’t been running on much                                        sleep, that’s all. i’m not really one                                        for big parties like that anyway. ”

                      the woman yawned and took another sip of                       the energy drink she held. she glanced up                       at the sign on the building. she didn’t think                       that the 505 club would be so packed.                       baggy blue eyes half open stared back as                       she tried to fully wake herself.

The girl looked so out of it, Alex was almost worried.  It wasn’t like her to care about strangers, but if someone was gonna try drugging this poor girl they had another thing coming to them.  She glanced around and hovered close by, simply listening to her ramble.

It have her a chance to really look at her.  The lettermen varsity jacket looked worn, like it had probably seen some shit.  Looked a great deal too big for her too.  Perhaps it belonged to her boyfriend or something.

“You need help getting somewhere?  Look like ya might drop any second now.”

         THE RESPONSE is to be expected, she supposes, but it doesn’t stop the soft scoff Corey exhales and the millisecond of a smile that touches the corners of her lips, before it’s gone– lost in the drag of her smoke. Alex’s honesty was a nice refresher; a familiarity, if anything else.

But what’s less expected– nearly catches her off guard, actually– is the concern that follows the snark. She’s not too sure how to reply, afterwards.

Taking in the cool night air, Corey can feel the piercing gaze of emerald irises bear into her side– waiting. Shifting a bit in her spot, she makes no move to acknowledge it, however– her own eyes carefully trained on the road and the sight of passing cars and their appearing and disappearing figures from under the light of the lampposts.

“… I’ll get over it,” she says, finally, tapping the butt of her cigarette against her finger in order to shake off the burnt material, “just… needed to get out of there.” But she can’t say the idea of getting out of here doesn’t sound all that unappealing, either.

Those big green eyes studied Corey closely while she chewed on her own lip.  Alex hummed with anger in most situations, so tension built in the brief moments Corey took to answer.  And the answer did nothing to diffuse it. She glared back at the building, piercing through all of the bodies that stood in between.  There was a lucky person somewhere in there. Luck for Corey’s mercy. “Here.” Alex had her package of cigarettes held out to her, a sly grin replacing that telltale glare.

            irene’s eyelids were heavy and she took a sip             the jolt cola she held, barely noticing everyone             else around her. she’d lost hours upon hours             of sleep to the guilt she felt after murdering so             many mobsters. the woman sleepily went             through the motions of her day, donning a             jacket that belonged to the boyfriend she’d             lost to fatal bullet wounds. 

                                 she hardly noticed the other blonde                                  coming her way, and only did truly                                  get a good look at her when she                                  walked straight into her.

                        “ i’m sorry! i wasn’t paying attention. are you alright? ”

“Whoa.” Alex teetered a bit on the soles of her feet, the drink in her hand sloshing on her hand a bit.  That might’ve been a disaster if she’d been drifting on her heelys. The girl she’d hit was about as small as her, which caught her off guard.  She wasn’t used to that. “Careful there, girl.  It’s just a party.” The loud music boomed from inside of the building they were in front of, making their heads buzz.  Vivid green eyes regarded her with a hand on her shoulder to steady her.  She wasn’t too concerned, more acting on instinct than any logical thought.

(( I spent a crazy sum of hours on constructing/updating pages.  Please take the time to look at them and read them over, as I have added a shitton of information and almost everything has changed.  The rules are still quite long-winded, so once I sleep I’ll trim them down a bit, but other than that I’d love to hear from people on my work. x.x; The verses page will be severely under construction for a while until I establish more interactions with people, but there’s some good info on stuff packed in there too. I still owe starters.  This is me acknowledging that.  Please be patient. x.x  They’re cominggg.  And now I pass the fuck out. ))
