It had been quite some time since they had even gotten together, and Camus wasn’t even sure why he was beating around the bush for so long. Though, with the things Satsuki had said to him recently, it really made him think about it and perhaps it was now or never. It had nearly been..four years? Much past the time you’d ask someone to be with you..
He had made sure to call her out to the gardens where they normally had their cakes and tea together, and he made himself more composed as to not seem nervous. After all, he didn’t think she would certainly say no.
“Natsuki..I know you had gotten your White Day gift from me, albeit, it was not a lot. However..it’s not everything I had planned for today.”
He reached for her hands suddenly, squeezing them gently into his own as he stared down at her. Camus wasn’t the type to be scared of commitment, and it was something he knew he’d have to do eventually considering his family line, and he couldn’t even begin to think of a more suitable woman that he could bring back home with him.
“I hope this does not alarm you in any way, but..this is a much larger surprise than I’m sure you’ve anticipated.”
Letting go of her hands, he reached into the pocket of his white jacket. At least he looked presentable for this sort of occasion.
A white box was lifted from it suddenly, and he took a step back so he could kneel downward and popped the box open slowly as he held it up and reached for the hand the ring would generally go on, bringing it to his lips to press a kiss to the back of her knuckles.
“It..would make me one of the happiest men alive if you would do me the honors of marrying me, Natsuki. I could not even have wished to spend these four years with you, and I can only imagine myself spending even more together, if you’ll have me for that long. Will you?”
