Affright | Kukui + Morty [Event]
It was early evening in Konikoni City, the sun just beginning to touch the horizon out at sea. Kukui had a great view of it from his vantage point by the lighthouse, and he stopped a moment to admire the vibrant pink and orange hues. Somehow the sight always managed to be a little breathtaking, even with as many Alolan sunsets as he’d seen in his life.
But, the spectacular view wasn’t the reason he’d come to the lighthouse today. He’d heard from Olivia that people were becoming concerned about some strange activity around the place after dark. Odd lights floating around, haunting noises, eerie figures that vanished before anyone could get a better look... all signs pointed to some playful—or restless—spirits inhabiting the place.
Not that there was anything wrong with that, exactly. Ghost-types were Pokémon just like any other, after all, and they deserved a place to call home too. It only became a problem when they began disturbing the general population. If Olivia’s gossip was anything to go by, that was definitely becoming the case here. Kukui didn’t doubt that her Lycanroc would be able to dispatch any troublesome ghosts, but he’d volunteered to help with the problem anyway, thinking he might be able to peacefully relocate the spirits. And if the ‘peaceful’ approach didn’t quite work out, Kukui had Decidueye, the newest member of his team, on hand to help as-needed.
Now that he was here, there wasn’t really much to do aside from wait. Either the ghost would make an appearance and Kukui could start trying to solve the problem, or he’d have to try again some other time. For the sake of not being bored out of his mind, Kukui hoped it wouldn’t be the latter.
