19 – Saveas
Backstory: Tired of being in the shadow of his older brother when he was sure he was superior to him in every way, Saveas decided to take on a prey far beyond his capabilities. He was never patient or particularly careful, and stalking a deadly beast through the thick brush wasn’t exactly his best moment. Exhausted and lacking any of his former motivation, he got stuck in a marsh, completely at the mercy of the beast he had set out to hunt. As it launched at him, it tore up his shoulder, sending a sudden jolt of awareness through him. Saveas drew his spear over his chest to draw even more blood, get even more pain in his system, and hone his body to its very limits. He’d slayed the terrifying beast that day and has since been regarded highly among the Maulers.
Class: Fodder
Personal opinion: Saveas embodies everything I dislike about the Maulers if I am being honest. He’s arrogant, violent, reckless, way too proud, and doesn’t appreciate thinking or using his head. Getting jealous over a sibling is pretty normal but he’s honed it to the extreme and made it into something incredibly dangerous and frankly pretty disgusting, at least to me. That’s not talking about how incredibly ANNOYING he can be as an enemy, especially on ascended tiers. Seriously, WHY is he such a pain? Not even his voice is pleasant!
Headcanon: I like to think that since he’s probably the youngest among the Dragon Slayers, Numisu and Vurk sometimes like to tease and baby him and he absolutely hates it but puts up with it for their sake. It’s not that he would care though of course (liar) but he can’t really lose colleagues who have been so useful to him in the past, now can he?
