@ToyPizza #AFOTM spoilers for November/December 2022. Please do not scroll through if you don't want this spoiled yet. So it's the final box set of 2022 and I can say pretty easily I have no interest in it. We have Eon Raddick based on some art by Ian Ameling and Night Bugmen version 2 which looks like some Microman homage combining a HK and the Bugwing Set. I'm partly convinced Raddick exists solely to make @just_a_toy_kid 's running homage series of figures with silver heads a little easier for a month. 🤣 Meanwhile the Bugwing Set in clear just reminds me that I didn't get the additional CyMa torso & heads in clear because they became an unannounced Patreon exclusive years ago when I backed the funding campaign. Not a great thing to remind people of. The bonus pieces were a 6" ball joint Rex head, an unpainted white Vaughn head, and a monkey mace weapon. Oh, and another Card Slicer card. Since I have no interest in the set I didn't bother to open it yet. Likely not to happen until I need a part for a picture idea. So after yesterday let's take a deeper look at the new @toypizza Bugwing figure. As you can see @witchx3 was correct that the saber can remove the hilt to go full lightsaber if you desire. I've gone through the MOFO heads to show how each will fit on the dome body and how the female armored torso works with the full #Suitman body. Also #AFOTM #CroMega returns to try out his new weapons holder backpack. The Bridge head refused to keep the Dome on unless it was specially tilted. His nose seems to be the main culprit. Obviously Johnny's masked head doesn't work. Because of the thickness of the Suitman arms you can't completely attach the flight pack to the female torso. You can somewhat put it together, but something isn't going to be fully in the Glyos ports whether that's the arms or the pack itself. This and the super articulated Gauss Armor figure coming next year aren't my favorite designs by any means. Gauss Armor looks too busy with multiple designs slapped together. Bugwing has an odd looking torso trying to match up with the Suitman lower body, be wide enough at the top to accommodate the helmet, and also gets the curved waist of a female figure. You add the tech fans stuck in the middle of realistic bug wings and it's a hodgepodge idea that should have been worked over longer before tooling. As such, I won't be hunting these down very often. So if you've been following along I believe box five for 2022 is suppose to be special plastics if the rundown from earlier in the year holds up. Well it partly does, but also there's a change which was covered in this week's podcast. First off we have Lady Hades complete with Card Slicers card. Apparently she was not the planned figure for this box and was substituted in due to one of Jesse's shipments being lost in the mail. It's hand painted with Jesse's air spray paint for the pants over blank black Suitman pants so no two will be alike. As a build and a substitute it's ok. Good effort, not really my thing overall. I would have at least taped off the shoes so they remained black. The CyMa torso and head are a dark metallic brown colorway. The Xycoss Rift Killer arms are the selling point here in my book. I will do more with that than anything else she offers. Odds are she'll just be scrapped for parts and mixed with other unused Suitman pieces. With her is the army of the Hel-Diver because Lady Hades is an administrator of HEL. No one said the stories behind the figures were winners in the creative department. But anyway the Hel-Diver is a Guest Knight design by Shaun Gordon. An homage to the space suits from the original Star Trek episode The Tholian Web if I recall correctly. Mostly matte colors on a Metallic Pearl body. It feels appropriately GI Joe if you remember the stylings of Star Brigade.
