Afraid

I felt it.

It didn't need to be said or heard.

The cloth of his jeans felt smooth against my dark chocolate skin. I could hear the thump of his heart shuddering in his chest. His black shirt hung loose around his protruding collarbones.

The last thing I wanted to do was look him in the eyes;

but I did.

Brown with speckles of blue and green

Droplets of grey.

He smiled and his dimples nearly had me on my knees

I felt it.

And I was afraid.

Afraid of falling.
