Another issue of concern with the tessellation project was how it was going to fit into the natural context of the mosque. With one of the systems placed at the 3rd main entry of the mosque from the market, there is a literal integration into the trees that are first seen as one enters the mosque to improve the atmosphere of natural tranquility. A ritual water bath(wudu) is also constructed to improve this concept.
The system will use its honeycomb tessellation as water collectors and transfer water towards the ablution areas by a natural process.
Theres hope that with this, not only nature could be imitated, but functionally and systematically to reduce and reuse natural elements like water.
