Dec 26, 2020 | Kwanzaa Celebration at the African Burial Grounds, New York NY
Performing over holy ground is more like ancestor reverance. Dwa for the existence of this institution that we may gather to honor those whom have come before us, Remember how they got through hell to retur to us, and celebrate each other as a living Afrikan community, w/ global countries of birth.
I perform spoken word bareoot.
Yes, I painted my own face.
Everybody thought I was a dancer. Lol
Pay attn to the floor art. Its called a cosmogram "New Ring Shot" designed by Houston Conwill, architect Joseph DePace, and the poet Estella Conwill Mojozo. There's a matching piece located at The Schomburg in Harlem, NY.
Give Thanks! To the African Burial Grounds having me for a 5th year. I'll see you again soon.
Support the institutions that represent us.
