Day 1 – Umoja (Unity)
Building and maintaining unity in the family, community, and people.
Day 2 – Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)
Defining, naming, and speaking for ourselves.
Day 3 – Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility)
Working together to build and solve challenges as a community.
Day 4 – Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)
Supporting and circulating resources within our own communities.
Day 5 – Nia (Purpose)
Living with intention and contributing to the greater good.
Day 6 – Kuumba (Creativity)
Using creativity to leave our communities more beautiful than we found them.
Day 7 – Imani (Faith)
Believing in ourselves, our people, and our future.

Green candles (right): Represent hope and the future
One candle is lit each day to honor the principle being observed.
