Bongeziwe Mabandla, la pop d'un sud-africain amoureux

Notre premier Nouvo Nova de la rentrée nous vient d’Afrique du Sud et porte le doux nom de   “Zange”, soit « jamais » en langue Xhosa, celle chantée ici par Bongeziwe Mabandla. Le musicien, originaire des montagnes du Cap-Oriental, sur la côte sud-est du pays, est considéré comme l’un des jeunes visages du courant afro-folk local depuis son premier album Umlilo paru en 2012. 

À présent installé dans la bouillonnante Johannesburg, Bongezi dit avoir puisé dans ses expériences amoureuses pour écrire Zange, troisième disque qui verra le jour à la fin de l’année et dont est extrait ce titre éponyme. Une chanson lumineuse, toute en rétrospection, et hantée par le souvenir d’un amour perdu. Bonheur pour les Orléanais : sachez que Mabandla jouera le 16 novembre à l'Astrolabe.

She is Sesu, a United States based Nigerian female musician who returned to the country recently to promote her music. She shares the story of her journey into music as well as her childhood experience.
