AfroChic Toronto 2017!! First of all congrats to Amoye and the team for putting together yet another amazing event! I remember being at the last AfroChic, event at the time, in 2015, in awe that it was being discontinued, but they brought it back by popular demand, with a bang! @afrochicto #afrochic #afrochicto #afrochic2017
AfroChic 2017
AfroChic is a special event for the Black community in Toronto and yesterday we got to see it return in full force. Congratulations to the team and thank you for welcoming me and my camera!
I didn't intend to do much shooting at the event, but when the opportunity presented itself I gladly took it. I am passionate about documenting these community moments and I am also preparing for the relaunch of http://www. CJCromwell.com
I intend to continue to dig deep into my archives over the next year or two to make moments like these more accessible to the community.
I think about 10 years from now... what new growth and changes will we look back on? What will the 20th Anniversary of AfroChic look like for the next generation?
Cheers to AfroChic, AfroFest, African Fashion Week, Manyatta, Individual and Collective Black Entrepreneurs and so many other amazing initiatives that I have had the honour to documenting and participate in over the last few years.

This is a wonderful event of fashion, art, culture and community.
I had to wait years for this show to come back!
At the end of the image gallery, you will notice my first gif image :)
Shout out to dancer NadS (Nadia), we don’t know each other and I hope you don’t mind the image! The dance performance was solid - great energy.
