Sana is a character that I relate to ,more than I have related to any character in any show, and to see Sana having friends who love her so fucking much - I just want to cry of happiness

I don't know if you already answered similar asks (if so, sorry), but what do you think of their break? Do you think it's just a break, like the boys themselves said on twitter, or do you think it's a break up, like Julian and Simon basically said? Do you think they will come back together at some point in the future? What do you think they will do during the break / after the break up (whichever you think will happen)?

I think it’s a breakup.

I do think Harry will go solo, but it will be a very different type of career from what he has now (I don’t think he want’s a fandom), so he’s going to need some big radio hits post haste if he’s going to make it work the way he wants it to.

As for the other three...my fondest dream is for them to actually continue. Now, obviously they would be losing a lot, without Harry and Zayn. BUT, Niall has the popularity (he’s the most popular among the younger fans), Liam has the voice, and Liam & Louis have the songwriting. I doubt that they would have radio hits or widespread appeal, but I do think they could fill arenas and sell albums and make several million more dollars. So...that’s what I would like to see. Probably won’t happen but they should consider it! There’s money to be made boys...

About a Harry solo career (I think it's a definite possibility) do you think he'll have to turn the charm back on if he's gonna do that? He's been pretty aloof for like the last year/year and a half maybe? like I can't really see him doing interviews the way he does now, giving vague non answers or the fact he looks miserable in all fan pics lol. I think he can get away with it right now but if he's going to launch a solo career won't he have to give a little more? Which I'm not sure he wants to

I do think he will have to turn it back on. He will be in the position of once again having to hustle. I don’t think that he will want to try to build up his brand through social media - at least not as much as 1D were encouraged to do. But I do think that if he decides to pursue a solo career we will be seeing a different side of him in talk show appearances - more engagement and humor than we have seen recently.

I don’t think that he wants to give a lot of himself to the fans via Twitter, Instagram, mobbings, or fan service as he has been expected to in 1D. But I think that’s reasonably and normal, and shouldn’t impair his ability to pursue a solo career. Also, as the current fanbase ages or drops away, he will escape the most irritating and intrusive aspects of fame.

One thing that I haven't seen anyone remark much on is that while all signs point to 1D going their separate ways in the near future, I wonder how much distance they'll actually get from Simon? Harry seems to have a new team (at least in the background), but I wonder if his solo work will still be under Syco? Simon has been endorsing the solo ventures wholeheartedly. He's not doing that if he's not making bank on it IMO. Yet you see Harry distancing his brand from Simon (no TXF stumping for H).

I think Harry learned a lot from Simon when 1D was first formed, but now he has moved on. That said, I don’t know if their contracts have any clauses requiring them to use Sony or Syco to release their solo work. Hopefully not. I am sure that all the big record labels will be vying to sign him, so he will be in a position of strength and able to secure himself a reasonably favourable deal, no matter which label he ultimately works with.

who do u think is the most talented one out of the boys? or who do u think will stay in the spotlight after the band is over?? bc honestly i still feel like the boys could do better than this and they could have been even bigger with a better mangment.

Wellll...I don’t think that they will be able to do better as solo artists than they did as a group. But I do hope that they all have bright futures.

I think Liam is the most talented, and I do think that he is going to make an attempt at a solo career. I think he’ll do okay in Europe, the difficulty is going to be breaking into the US. I hope he succeeds though! To me he’s really the whole package - song writer, fantastic voice, excellent and compelling performer, seems comfortable with interviews and the other trappings of fame.

I do think Harry is going to stay in the industry. Unlike many Larries, I do think there is a strong chance that he is going to go solo. If so, I think he is going to base/start his solo career in the US, and I do think he has enough name recognition to pull it off. (It’s a risky move, but a much bigger market, so probably the right choice). If not, then I expect him to focus more on songwriting (and maybe acting since that rumour keeps popping up again and again).

Zayn is the only other one I can see trying for a solo career, but if he really can’t put out his own music for 2 years he is going to have a hard time.

Louis I think is aiming to be the next Simon Cowell, and Niall is the true wildcard. I want him to host a talk show, but we’ll see!

Thanks for acknowledging Harry's disconnect. It's like this fandom tries to make facts fit their theories rather than their theory fit the facts

Oh well, I’m not here to shade other bloggers. There are a lot of well thought out and well articulated theories explaining how the current narrative could be in service of 1D’s longevity. Those theories are good and interesting and hopefully right!

But yes, personally I think Harry’s separation is more likely not meant to somehow help 1D stay successful in the long term, but is in service of his own individual career goals (or his current personal preferences, if it is not career related).

I don't understand though, how anyone can have doubts about Harry going solo after his interview with Ryan Seacrest. His non answer when asked about going solo was such a HUGE deafening YES. That answer was perfect, because when he does go solo, we can't go back and be like "you lied!" Because he didn't lie, all he did was swerve and not answer that question. There would be absolutely no need to do that if he had absolutely no plans to go solo.

Certainly his answer was consistent with the idea of him going solo. But that is Harry’s general MO in interviews too - he swerves everything. So I don’t really take it as strong evidence.

I do think he’s doing something though, not just leaving the industry entirely. I know a lot of people don’t think he likes the fame and don’t think he wants to go solo for that reason. That’s not really my read of the situation or of his character, but time will tell!

Excellent point though overall - a tick in the “solo Harry” column for sure.
