they say that someone else's presence in your mouth stays for about six minutes from the last time they kissed you, that bruises from teethed affection fade after two weeks, that the skin replaces itself every twenty-seven days, and that muscle memory can last a month or a decade or a lifetime.
there are some rules to leaving something, or someone. for starters, restrain from talking about it to everyone all the time, save it for your five best friends only. don't sulk around in public after the first month, after which, all sulking must be restricted to drunk nights, bed pillows, and the bathroom floor. do not agree on the whole being friends deal, especially if you were best friends, especially if you still love them. do not mistake instinctual care for a sign of mutuality, good people always care about others. and do not kiss the hand that lets yours go, do not make a fool of yourself in hopes of redemption.
always remember, whether you are the one that leaves or the one that is left, keep walking. let the distance grow before turning back around. let there be enough space in between for new flowers to breathe. a garden rebirths itself even if left forever alone. soil grows stronger roots in the after-events of death and decay. here, you may choose to frolic in the weeds in a few years, but its best advised to just sit and watch the bloom. remember to keep walking. do not overstay your in-between welcomes. leave politely and in peace.
the flight that i am leaving on has a weight limit to it. and here's is what i can carry with me.
a number. a passcode. about 98mb worth of storage in my phone. a single overpriced earring. thirteen seashells from your trip to the beach two years ago. a sunflower that never dies. a silver sliver on my wrist. my hands. my skin. my bones. a couple of tattooed kisses that are due to fade in twelve days. a lighter and some candles. a box full of bills unsettled. a few papers to write more shit on. a ghost. a bag full of anger and well wishes.
here's what i am forced to leave behind. a sweatshirt. a jersey. a wrist band. a pair of eyeglasses. a lipstick. a few papers with shit written on. a song. a passenger seat in a car now sold. your hands. your skin. your lips. your scent. your name. a fit of foolish hope. an occupied empty room in my heart. a bag full of anger and well wishes. a pipe dream. bells. a dog and bright large windows. a garden to sit in. you.
summary: Kara, Luther, and Alice have finally started to live a peaceful life in Canada. With the revolution for androids ending successfully, they have a chance for a fresh start. But when someone from their past shows up unexpectedly, Kara isn’t sure how to feel about it.
A/N: I really am excited to participate in this and I hope you(acpcaddict) enjoyed this, though it wasn’t my best work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kara smiled as Luther and Rose played with Alice on the playground.
They had only been in Ontario for a few weeks after the Battle of Detroit, as the media had been calling it. Kara, Luther, and Alice had gone with Rose to her brothers to finally be a family, like they had wanted for a while.
The next fall, Kara was planning on enrolling Alice into a nearby school. She was very, very excited about this, seeing as after Todd’s wife had left he had stopped sending her to school. And Luther was looking for a job with a construction company so that they could eventually move out. Even though Rose constantly assured them it was no trouble, they still felt like they were imposing.
Kara shook her head, clearing her thoughts as Rose walked up to her. “Kara, I was wondering if I could take Alice home, it’s starting to get late and I don’t want her staying up all night.”
Kara chuckled a little. Alice was cared for by more people then she knew what to do with. “Of course Rose. I’m going to take a little walk. I won’t be long.”
Rose nodded and went back to Luther and Alice. Alice came running over and hugged Kara. “Bye Mom.”
“See you soon Alice.” Kara said smiling, watching as they left.
Kara walked by the water, almost mesmerized by the reflection of the sun setting on the water. She had taken a lot of these walks since coming to canada, it calmed her. Since she had been repaired, she hadn’t had a chance of peace and rest. It was hard to get used to.
Kara was about to head home when she heard a voice.
“Hello Kara.”
Chills ran down her spine as she turned to look at the origin of the voice.
Connor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Take me if you have to but leave Alice alone!” Kara blurted out. She was sure if her LED was still there it would be a strong red.
“What?” He looked confused for a moment. “No, I’m not here to take you in.”
Now it was Kara’s turn to be confused. “Then why are you here? Aren’t you the deviant hunter? The last time I saw you-”
“I’ve deviated.” He interrupted her. Now that the initial shock had somewhat subsided, she noticed Connor did seem different. He no longer had his tie and his LED was gone.
“What...” Kara hesitated and took a deep breath. She was still resisting the urge to run off. “What are you doing here then?”
“I...” He seemed uncertain. “I wanted to apologize.”
Kara remained silent.
“And to give this to the child,” He pulled out the stuffed fox Alice had from before they had run away.
Kara sucked in a breath.
When she didn’t say anything, Connor took this as a sign to go on. “A few days after Markus won the revolution, I didn’t have much to do. I couldn’t exactly go back and do what I had before. So, I decided to make amends. Markus has been busy with the treaty and I haven’t had much luck with the other deviants I’ve...encountered.
“But I was able to find Todd Williams house where this was and asked Markus if he knew where you had been heading.” He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I realize this most likely made you uncomfortable and this was very unexpected. I just wanted to apologize and give this to you for the girl. So, I’m sorry, about everything.”
He handed the fox to her and started to walk away. “Goodbye.”
Kara looked down at the fox and without really thinking called out. “Wait. You came all the way here. Would you like to go on a walk? I was planning on going home soon anyway.”
Connor looked at her a moment and a small smile appeared on his face. “That sounds nice.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It didn’t take too long for them to get to Rose’s brother’s house. But they talked an awful lot on the way there.
Kara talked about how she met Alice, and what Todd had been doing to her. How they ran away and ended up finding Ralph in that house. What happened at Zlatko’s house, luther, rose, and eventually how they made it to Canada.
In turn Connor told her of the other deviant cases he had been assigned to work with alongside a lieutenant Hank Anderson. That with each case he began to feel more and more like he was alive. Connor quietly told her about how he’s still worried Cyberlife might take over him and hurt others again.
Then they made it to the door and they turned to each other to say goodnight.
“I know that you weren’t expecting me.” Connor began. “But I had a very pleasant evening with you. I’m grateful I had the chance to apologize to you.”
“Connor, it’s ok. You’re forgiven.” Kara reassured him and it looked like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
“Thank you Kara.” He said. “I believe this is the appropriate time to say goodbye.”
“I suppose it is.” And yet neither of them moved.
Connor leaned in slightly, but stopped hesitently. After a moment Kara closed the gap and shut her eyes as they kissed.
It wasn’t particularly heated or intense but rather was gentle and slow. Several seconds later, they parted, both wearing small smiles.
“I have very little experience in this field, but that was nice.” Connor said.
“Yes, yes it was.” Kara responded. “But what do we do now?”
“I’m not sure. But maybe we can figure it out in the morning.” Connor suggested.
Kara nodded and grabbed his hand, opening the door and pulling him into the house, up the stairs, quietly past alice's room, and into Kara’s own.
They may not have known what was going to happen, but they knew they didn’t need to talk about it right that second. They had other things to do.
As I’m sure most of you has seen the video Nickelodeon posted about what Zoey said in her DVD. If you are like me, you saw the many plot holes. So seeing as I used to write Zoey 101 fanfiction, the video got my creative juices flowing and this happened:
Words: 1058
Links: FFN
Summary: Ten years ago, Zoey buried a DVD. Seven years ago, Chase saw Zoey for the last time. The events after WhatZoeySaid video
As Chase ran as fast as he could through the airport, he thought about the last ten years. It didn't seem like it was ten years ago when Zoey told him that he could watch her DVD. It didn't feel like ten years ago he was at PCA. Those ten years seem to have flown by.
After he came back from England, he and Zoey tried dating. They went to Hawaii together and had the best time of their life but that summer ended. When they went back to PCA, everything seemed to change. Both of them were busy with college applications and essays. As Chase thought about it now, he should've realized what was happening.
Zoey pulled away from him in a way he didn't expect. She never seemed to have time for him. When May 1st came around, she told him. She decided she was going back to Louisiana for college that way she would be closer to her family. Chase was shocked. He thought they were going to UCLA together. Clearly she didn't take his feelings into consideration.
The fight was bad. He thought their radio fight was bad. He thought their England fight was bad but neither one of those compared to this fight. It caused a drift in the gang's friendship Chase didn't think could be fixed. At graduation, the friends he had since eighth grade left without another word.
Chase decided he had to move on. He couldn't pin after Zoey forever. When he met Alyssa, he thought he was done with Zoey. Alyssa was different. Good different. His family adored Alyssa. His dad told him that she was perfect for him. His mom cooked with her.
Chase bought the ring on a whim. When he told his mom and sister, they screamed. They helped him plan the perfect propose with the clam shell. His dad thought it was dorky that he was proposing with a clam shell. Not like he could say anything, he proposed over the phone.
The restaurant they were at today was the place of their first date and he was ready. But for some odd reason, he place a picture of Zoey in his bag this morning. He wasn't sure why he didn't, he just told himself to do it.
But everything changed when Michael came through the door. The last seven years disappeared and were replaced by the all those wonderful years at PCA. His mind flashed to his webshow with Michael, his race with Logan, homework with Quinn, rehearsing with Lola, and Zoey.
Zoey Brooks. Even her name made him weak in the knees. Everything about her was perfect. Alyssa was pushed out of his mind as Michael told him about Zoey's DVD for the time capsule.
Now Chase was running after a ghost. A ghost that might not feel the same way but finally Chase is doing what he should've done a long time ago. He was holding on to his soulmate.
Michael didn't know what processed him to do what he just did. He pondered his actions as he stripped out of his dirty clothes in his best friend's ex-girlfriend's shower. Even though he just ruined her chance to become Mrs. Chase Matthews, Alyssa surprisingly let him take a shower in her apartment.
When Michael woke up two days ago, he had no idea he would travel across the country to dig up a DVD then travel back. After he kissed Lisa and made his way to the office, he received a text from an unknown number. Confused, he texted back and asked who it was. A few moments later, he screamed. He made an illegal turn and drove as fast as he could to the airport, calling Lisa on the way.
Five hours later, Michael met Lola Martinez at the airport. After a brief catchup, they made their way to PCA where they met Nicole Bristow and Mr. Bender at the entrance. Mr. Bender led them to the place where they buried the time capsule and Michael started shoveling with the shovel he rented. Afterwards, he hugged the girls and went back to the airport where he flew another six hours to New York. This time watching the DVD.
Now he was in a stranger's apartment, showering, after ruining her chance at happiness. Michael should feel bad but he didn't. Chase deserved to be happy. Zoey deserved to be happy. They deserved to be happy together.
Zoey put the finishing touches on her new creation before closing up her boutique. The day seemed to fly by. Her assistant manager called in sick on her day off so she had to go in and open. After she called in her backup, Zoey finished all her paperwork before continuing her creation.
At lunch, she received a text from an unknown number. After sending a confused response and getting an answer back, Zoey almost dropped her phone. The rest of the day, she was distracted. Memories came flooding back, good and bad, mainly the bad.
Her senior year of PCA came flooding back as she remembered pushing her friends away. She wanted-no needed to get a full ride to college so she worked her butt off, putting her relationship and friendship on the back burn.
She remembered the day she told Chase she was going back home as though it happened yesterday. There was yelling. There was tears. There was pain. Zoey knew she should've talked to him about it but at the time, she justified her decision. Looking back, she realized her mistakes. She wanted him, she wanted them to be together but she gave up them.
As she closed up her shop, she thought back to her graduation. The friends she made were no more as she walked across that stage. The years afterwards were a mixture of stress and determination. Zoey pushed herself in college, determined to open her own fashion business. Five years later, her boutique was opened with a small workshop in the back. She pushed Chase out of mind along with the friendships she lost. Until today.
Zoey finished closing, locking the door behind her, shifting her bag. Her mind was still in the past as she turned around. She stopped, staring at what seemed like a ghost. A ghost that was her friend. Her soulmate.
How they’d ever managed to get into those situations, he’d never understand. She was an island nation, which Norway generally understood as ‘stay away from everyone else and hopefully out of trouble’. He himself tended to distance himself from others, half out of irritation.
She’d saved him, and he’d saved her. It was a strange thought. It was even stranger to think of how the situations came about, so he tried not to. One involved an angry shark and the other involved the harsh cold, that’s all he allowed himself to remember, as it was much simpler that way. Especially since the incidents could be more easily associated to who saved who.
They’d tried talking about it before, it led to nowhere. Neither really knew what had happened on those two days, it had all happened so quickly. Everything was normal, something happened, one of them ended up in hospital, yet still alive and then everything was normal again.
It made no sense.
He was grateful though. Yes, he would have lived on regardless; but it was nice to know someone cared enough to help, even if they themselves didn’t understand why.
Pickles will love Silas even as he dissembles the poor pup. Although now all the agents know how to make rudimentary transforming mechanical animals. They won't get why their boss is tearing apart their wedding present, but at least they know how to put Pickles back together.
OnO Silas is gonna kick Pickles, isn't he. Nooooo. Not Pickles! Pickles loves you, Silaaaaas. He'll nip the ankles of anybody who bothers you before unfurling his guns and obliterating them. He craps used ammo casings. He loves you so muuuuch.
That depends on how close it gets, and if it’s as annoying as other small dogs. He’s partial to dogs, it may very well survive the night.
Primus. Silas is going to murder NPC Knock Out, isn't he. =/
First he’ll determine whether or not the Decepticon doctor has anything to offer. It may be delayed, but it’s inevitable. Murder is such a harsh word; consider it repurposing.
