One really good reason to work with children:
You can start the day off feeling like you need to cry and sleep for 3 days, and in the space of an hour with kids feel entirely different.
Pretended (unprompted- the others were for an activity) to be royalty with long cloaks.
Quietly think about it when you suggest apologizing to their brother might make them feel better, then quietly go do so a few minutes later when you move on to help another kid.
Made each other friendship bracelets.
Decide, without prompting, that they want to check out books this week (I work at a library).
Also I found a kid 2 books they wanted to read after they insisted the others were “too hard.” I got them to read a graphic novel because the words are in a bigger font and there are more pictures than words. That feels like such a big accomplishment, you have no idea.
I feel so much lighter now.
Today was good day in the middle of a really crappy time.
Because I work with kids.
