This is why I love the former lead singers of Flyleaf. Just a simple post on Instagram shows how strong, powerful, and beautiful both Lacey and Kristen are in their own sense.
ilovejoshsturm: If you are a woman who has judged all men through the lens of your past hurt, I understand how that happens. I'm grieve over your pain. I pray you will heal and find hope to trust again. If you are a man who has been the victim of a wounded woman's prejudice against men, I want to apologize to you, from my heart that remembers a time when, in my own prejudice, I hated 'men'. I grieve over the pain I've caused men in my wounded-ness. If you are a man or a woman who has hurt people, abandoned, neglected, abused or hated others, I pray that you will heal from whatever caused you to do those things. I pray you will have eyes to see people as precious works of God's art, worth loving well.. and that you, who don't feel you're own worth, because of things your ashamed of, will know that you too are Gods work of art and are created for so much more than hatred, violence, rage, lust, control, and the worlds illusions of power.. you are powerful when you use your free will to be selfless and you're fulfilled when you truly love, and humble yourself to believe in and receive love. I'm thankful for the men in my life and their stories of redemption, especially my husband. And I believe in my boys so much. No matter what they may face or mistakes they will make, that they are worth forgiveness, redemption, and can be molded into awesome symbols of glory and grace by the God who made them. God is in the business of restoration. I believe in God's choice to give each of us breath, another day, another chance to make the world more beautiful somehow. "Love is patient, kind, it doesn't envy, it doesn't boast, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love doesn't delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13.
iamkristenmay: All these political discussions going around lately are making my heart feel pretty heavy. Heavy with the weight of what I know has been troubling me for so long. With the recent Donald Trump remarks made public...why is it I am not surprised by his words? They are shocking sure, but not really. When you think about the lyrics in certain music today, words that objectify women. When you walk down the street or go for a jog outside and get whistled or hollered at out of the car window. When women are time and time again paid less for a job they do as well if not better than a man. I am not surprised by words from men like Trump, because I know men like Trump. I do not count these people as my friends, but I know them. They are power hungry, greedy individuals who treat women as if they are in fact, objects. There are so many things I could say, but something positive to come out of this mess is this...Im thankful that people are starting to understand that sexism is real. I'm thankful that women like Michelle Obama are standing up and speaking out against men who choose not to respect women. I'm thankful because, maybe that will remind all females to respect themselves and value who they are, and never, ever believe they are lesser than a man. We are all created equal. I am proud to be female because I understand the grace, power, beauty and strength it takes to be innately woman. I pray my sisters will know their value and refuse to be mistreated in the future. We must stand together in LOVE. Know your worth, my friends. 💕✨💕✨✌🏾️✨💕✨💕 #everyoneshouldbeafeminist #genderequality
