manga splendido <3
I feel so blessed that as a teenager I had so much gender questioning material. I think I always felt this way and I could name it. Afterschool Nightmare, Chobits and Salior Moon shaped me in so many ways.
Setona Mizushiro
Ciao a tutti miei cari amici, come state?Spero bene!

EDPM Exams and Girl Talk
I feel like I got a solid 2 or 3 even on that exam.
wHY ARE EXAMS JUST SO TERRIBLE TO US?
fUCK OFF.
But majority of the things on the practical test, I had no knowledge of how to do.
I studied and studied all night last night and even a bit during the final period we were to be locked up in there before heading out to lunch!
But to no avail.
That stinkin’ “mail merge” crap is just too difficult.
The book said specific procedures.
I followed specific procedures.
It should’ve come out right!
Right?
No.
Maybe it’s because I’d never done it before, and that’s why it was just SO difficult.
But at least I’m not alone.
Joshua is just as confident that he got a 2 or a 3.
He saw how upset I felt about not being able to understand (my ego is so large that my pride is affected by little measly things like that) and tried to cheer me up by saying that we still had a chance with the theory exam on June 3rd.
HAH.
I’m gonna study my ass off, and if I don’t get the highest in the class, I’ll bloody hunt down whoever my invigilator was and murder them.
Speaking of invigilators...
My invigilator for my EDPM Practical exam was the same lovely lady from my church who gave me advice on the English exam for next week this past Sunday.
Imagine my - as well as her - surprise, when she walked into the room.
Despite going against exam protocol, I cautiously asked, “Miss Grace?”
She smiled and we had a nice little chat and everybody looked so confused.
But then we got on with the test with a little nudge from Mr. Maxwell.
So I did that test, and by the time I got to the fourth question, I was dozing off in my seat.
Fighting to stay awake was a futile fight, for I slipped within sleep’s grasp ever so easily once more.
I managed to finish it, however, and I was good to go.
The copy test and the second question are the ones I was most confident in.
The third and fourth questions, not so much.
I felt pretty worried for my friend Jesenia, however. She was called into a group with a bunch of Year 11′s, and though everyone freaked out because they wondered if their names were called yet, but I was freaking out because Jesenia’s an oblivious idjit, and being surrounded by mature, smart, older people who she didn’t know made me feel worried for her sake.
When aren’t I worrying nowadays?
After dashing out to head to the bathroom, I went straight to the bus park to meet up with my best friend in Year 11, Kimberly.
She had to do the same exam, despite being two years above me, but we were both complaining about how hard it was.
Honestly, I wouldn’t blame her.
Jessica, another good friend of mine’s in Year 10, caught up to us, and we started talking about the exam.
Once on the bus, we then switched to more important topics, and Jess relayed her story about the first class she had with Comm. Studies.
Kimmy snorted, and Jess was laughing because she told us a pretty funny fact:
Teacher: Welcome to Comm. Studies!
Jess’ Seat Partner: ...where we study and observe male ejaculation specimen...
I told Jess that if I passed this year’s English B and A exam, I’d be doing Comm. Studies. She said that I might not as they’d stated they wouldn’t be continuing Comm. Studies for it was too “difficult”.
We then continued onto an encounter Jess had at the gym.
Jess: *sees a hot, attractive guy in the corner of the room, with earbuds in and texting on his phone; decides to approach*
Guy: *pulls out an earbud and looks up at Jess*
Jess: You are under arrest for being such a fine human being. I must now prescribe a strip search. Off with your shirt!
Jess has the most guts out of all of us, honestly. It’s funny though.
Jess mentioned how she and Kimmy were reading a manga called “Afterschool Nightmare”. It’s about some guy who was born half man and half woman. His upper body is male, but his lower body is female.
She relayed a scene in where the guy is asking another girl for pads, and he has a bag, and he says, “Gimme the goods.”
The only thought coursing through my busybody brain at the time was:
“So if he were gay, he’d technically be straight? What?”
Speaking aloud my thoughts, I was met with laughter.
We planned for a night out where we just go and chill like good friends should.
Honestly, I’m super excited.
I feel so much more comfortable with these people who are older than me, than most of the kids my age.
I feel more in the zone when I’m with Year 10′s or Year 11′s. I don’t know why.
Either way, I promised Kimmy to make a meme about that Comm. Studies statement, so I’ll organize my thoughts later.
Reread Afterschool Nightmare by Mizushiro again. It was as amazing as it was the first time I read it. There's something about the author's ability to capture the complexity of the human mind and stir the reader's emotions.
It's been like 6 years since I've read Afterschool Nightmare, I think it's finally time to read it again
26. Any unfinished costumes? Will you ever finish them? - Not really. I try to finish my costumes before starting a new one. All though I have bought wigs for costumes that I haven’t made yet. Like the ones above. The first one on the left is for Mashiro Ichijo from Afterschool Nightmare, second one is for Mikan from Air Gear and the last one was supposed to be for Tsunemori Akane from PsychoPass but I might order a new one for her.
In Dangan Ronpa, Yamada talks about Afterschool Nightmare at one point, and it was one of the few pop culture references Orenronen didn't point out in his translation notes.
Which is weird, because it kind of has a lot in common with SDR? It seems like it must have been an influence. I don't know whether he missed it because it's one of the few shoujo manga jokes in there, or whether he just didn't want to give the title because Yamada basically spoiled the ending.
I'm gonna spoil the ending under the cut, here is what Yamada says:
