i've never been on a diet for weight loss but i still keep tabs on dietary trends and it's kinda funny that we're doing the atkins thing again where everyone goes nuts for protein. everything has to have protein in it for no reason ESPECIALLY if it's food that doesn't naturally provide protein. candy and fruit gummies with added protein. protein coffee. protein popcorn. protein tater tots. the absurdity of drizzling protein powder in a batch of muffins and labeling them "healthy" which also makes them more expensive. dietary trends rarely have sound science behind them and it sucks that most people believe whatever the hype machine says, even when it's just repeating the same junk science from 10 years ago with new buzzwords
