What magical Uni did you attend in England where it was different to what you described? (This is a legit question and not as horribly sarcastic as it sounds) I live in England, I'm studying English Lit at Uni, and basically everything you just described is applicable to my course (and are 99% of the reason this degree is destroying my love of literature piece by piece).
Ohhh no I'm so sorry to hear that! Honestly I didn't get to college/uni in England but my highschool/A levels weren't like this at all - I went to Harrogate Ladies' College and did GSCE and A Level English and never had to cite things like this.
Ugh that sucks that England makes you do it too though. I totally feel you in the destroying love of literature part.
But what really really really frustrates me is the citation thing as a whole. If I say ANYTHING that even LOOKS like something the internet has said before (found by Turnitin or some other Hellish plagiarism detector site) then I'm screwed, even if my thought was 'original' in my own head. Expecting me to search the entirety of the internet to find a point I already wanted to make so that I can PROVE IT'S A POINT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE PUBLISHED IT??!!
I LITERALLY WANT TO FUCKING SCREAM RIGHT NOW I HATE THIS SO MUCH 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

THEY'RE SO PERFECT IT HURTS MY WHOLE BEING (no i'm not bit excessive lol) Well my gifs aren't that special, i guess logoless episodes and a nice coloring helps :D but i've seen yours and you're far from being bad my dear! so you should totally make some! The more OUAT on my dash the better!
