Send a “▥” for a snip-it of conversation if the character and writer were stuck in a room together.
((Not sure there’d be much conversation as we’d both just stare angrily at one another, but if there was— I imagine this is how it would go.))
Five hours, locked in this room, under watch. The two of us had nothing to say, so we watched each other silently; both of us determined to calculate the other’s next move. Zaeas did not trust me, rightfully so, and I could only keep my guard on high alert as the inner workings of the Priest’s mind were all too familiar. Two hours of silence is torture, but five hours is agony. Not even distant voices could permeate the thick walls encasing us — I would have been happy to hear them. As expected, Zaeas welcomed the silence with open arms, smiling at the lack of effort it had taken to break a normal person.
I couldn’t bear this silence much longer, so I spoke out, hoping to break the man’s concentration, "Of all the characters I could have been locked in here with, it had to be you and your sister.”
"I’m having as much fun as you are." He said sarcastically, rolling those emerald eyes.
I balled my fists, frustrated once again by a fictional character. A thought occurred to me that I should probably see a therapist about my unhealthy attachment to characters populating story books and imaginary worlds, but I quickly wrote it off, not wishing to be distracted in a room with a knowledgeable Priest. I decided that to keep myself sane, and safe, I’d have to keep him enthralled by conversation. "So, does Occlumency exist in your world too?"
I mentally berated myself for even considering that the term existed in the universe he inhabited. "Oh, nothing, its just from a book in my world, forget I even mentioned it."
"Certainly. By the way, I don’t like you much." A quick change of subject, did he think I was closing in on him?
It was my turn to roll my eyes, except my scoff came as a surprise to both him and I, "I wouldn’t expect you to."
He glared, "Fair enough. But, can I just make some notes for you on how I want to—"
"NO! No, you cannot. This is my space, mine."
"If you’re not careful I’ll tell everyone about that embarrassing night you had in Booty Bay."
He visibly paled, and offered a sweet, forced smile, "Alright, I won’t say anything else."
