The fact that a year and a half after a character was killed on a TV show, her supporters are still attacking people who ship Bellamy and Clarke on Twitter is so disturbing to me on a psychological level. Don't these people have lives? Other interests that can satisfy them more because this TV show clearly doesn't? No matter how many times they scream into the void between now and next February, it's not going to change a thing. Won't bring L back. Won't make Niylarke endgame. If--
They’re so hateful about it, just watch another show. Seriously, how do they function in real life? By being whining, bullying babies? Is that how they treat their families, coworkers, neighbors, friends, etc. when they disagree? Why would anyone even want to be around awful people like that? And to think the showrunners have protected and catered to them when they can be so vile makes me livid. Haven’t they shown their ugly side to everyone who makes the show?
I don’t know nonny. Is something going on on twitter? There are reasons I don’t go there much. I lurk, but post rarely, and even more rarely about fandom. I’m probably going to turn it into a writing/creativity account, not fandom. Fandom is toxic. I just checked and I don’t see anything which is good, my bubble is starting to work.
The anti hate and attacks seem to be starting up again for me, personally, also. I have come to realize that it doesn’t really have anything to do with me. Whether I do what they want or don’t, ignore L and CL or answer asks about her. Either way. The response is the same. It’s possible they don’t like being ignored. And no one was talking about L. Since, you know, she’s not part of the show anymore and so there really wasn’t much to talk about in relation to the end of the season or season 5.
As far as I can tell, they are trying to hold onto a platform so they can maintain their anger. They’ve got no story. People don’t really care about the CL storyline anymore. They’ve got nowhere to go. So they’re just attacking their old nemesis and random shippers who are ideologically impure (aka don’t ship what they ship.)
Seriously though. Why are they bothering me? I offended them by saying Clarke was the hero of her own show and we shouldn’t diminish her? I barely write meta lately. I’m busy. Oh I did say that I didn’t interpret the show through CL. I thought that’s what they wanted?
I don’t even know. I don’t even care.
What is wrong with fandom? When did everyone decide that only one point of view, only one ship, only one opinion was allowed and everyone who doesn’t agree is therefore evil and should be silenced and destroyed?
Like you all know that’s not the way the world works, right? You know that? That we’re all just stumbling our way along here, trying not to collapse until we figure something out? And if we find something that feels good and makes us happy, it’s not something to stomp out because you don’t share it?
