What is agbön? I know it's not real but I tried to look it up to see if anyone had an idea and found nothing.
Ooh, dangit - I’m pretty sure I vaguely recall Tomi talking about this a little bit in one of her interviews! I checked out the interviews I know I’ve watched and couldn’t find it - I’ll have to keep checking!
As I recall, the impression I got was that perhaps Tomi hasn’t super completely fleshed out yet (or perhaps agbön just didn’t really fit in the book), but basically all we get revealed to us is that it’s a popular team sport in Orïsha. It’s basically her quidditch, since Harry Potter was a big inspiration to her, but obviously less magical, lol. I wanna say agbön was compared to rugby because that was my immediate association to this question, but I’m not 100% positive on that.
Personal headcanon, since Tomi was also heavily inspired by ATLA, I picture it kinda similar to airball but without the bending - so something really athletic in a martial arts sorta way with obstacles on the field, lol.
Does anybody know the interview or comment I think I recall, though?
