i meant for this to be way shorter but it came out a little long... this was super fun to write tho ngl

cool autumn days, spent walking down sidewalks framed in leaves, riding the bus to and from the library. borrowing books as much as possible. of course, your caregiver notices and decides its time to get you some books of your own that you can read whenever you want. they bundle you up in a soft, thick sweater to keep you protected from the nip of the air outside. you wear matching sweaters that day. first, your caregiver takes you for coffee. of course you get a tinie drink, fitting for a little. and they get themselves a nice, hot latte. after coffee, its time for a trip to the bookstore. 

your eyes are filled with wonder when you walk inside, its beautiful and its fill to the brim with books just for you to pick from. you don’t run, but you want to as you walk around the aisles and eye every single spine thoroughly. your caregiver guides you to sections with your favorite kinds of books. you pick out several. a few of your favorites from the library and a few new ones you haven’t read before. your caregiver takes you to the front and buys all your books for you. “ a reward, for being such a good kiddo. ” they offer warmly as they hand you your bag of books.

when you get home, you just can’t help but want to read immediately. “ now now! ” you cry the moment you’re in through the door. with a chuckle your caregiver nods and pats your head, “ of course, bumble bee. give me just a minute. “ your caregiver takes extra long to prepare a little surprise for you. you wait on the couch impatiently.

your caregiver finally comes inside and leads you out to a little spot in your backyard under a tree where a blanket is spread out. there’s a sippy cup of your favorite drink and some snacks set on the edge of the blanket. there’s pillows too to rest on and some of your stuffies set up to read to. “ just for you, kid. ” your caregiver pats your back and sets you loose to read.

— fem ! middlere ! reader & dad ! caregiver ; lunch at the fall festival !!

a little school drabble... i love fall festivals and i miss going to them as a kid... they were so fun :(( i didnt get to go a lot cause of my living situation, but i did enjoy what i got to go to

it’s the weekend, school is over for two days but you’ve returned to the property once again. today is sunday and the school has decided to host a fall festival. you and your dad walk through the aisles of booths. selling school supplies, raffle tickets, accessories, books, and various other treasures children and their parents might find valuable. lots of games too. with lots of prizes. and of course there were a few small rides. and a little educational animal show. and of course, lots of yummy yummy food.

after a while of walking and talking and riding and playing, you’re tired and your tummy is grumbling. you tug on your dad’s sleeve. he turns to look at you, “hey, girly. what’s up?” he kneels down to your level and raises a brow at you. “i’m hungry, dad.” you huff a bit, already getting a bit hangry. he lets out a long ‘hmmmmm’ before rising up to his feet and looking around at the food trucks. “alright, well there’s not lots of nutritious options here… but i’ll just make you eat extra veggies at dinner.”

you gasp and your eyes widen, “what? no fair!” you exclaim. your dad wags his finger at you, “you want festival food, you’ll eat veggies. but i can’t have my baby starving, so let’s get you some food.” he takes one of your hands into his and walks you through the trucks. “how about corndogs? or a pulled pork sandwich? maybe nachos?” he lists off the options as you look at all the menus printed across metal sidings. 

you think on it like it’s the most important choice in the world. it very well could be! but of course, you come to the perfect decision. “corndogs!” you exclaim with finality. dad nods proudly in confirmation, “corndogs it is then.”

he buys two corndogs, he gets some ketchup and mustard for you both to use and gets you both something to drink. himself a pepsi and you a lemonade. you gobble down your corndog eagerly, maybe a bit too eagerly because you’re left with a tiny tummy ache after. but it’s yummy and greasy and good. 

when you’re done eating, dad gives you a soft pat on the back. “how was my girl's food?” he asks with a quirked brow. you grin at him, “yummy!” he chuckles and ruffles your hair, “perfect. why don’t we enjoy the rest of this fair then?”

I've been so tired the past week I've been involuntarily regressing.

So last night Mommy gets me in my onesie and gives me my paci and gets me to sleep.

But when I wake up from a nightmare, she comforts me. I don't know if she even understood what I was saying behind the pacifier.

And it's just so tender and loving to be cared for that way.
