Sam Flax - Fire Doesn't Burn Itself

Californian native and multi-instrumentalist Sam Flax had the fashion world in a trance when he provided an exclusive soundtrack for Saint Laurent's Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. 

The track "Fire Doesn't Burn Itself", originally released on his Age Waves LP last year, is a soundscape of avant-garde synths and psychedelic melodies. It was a surprise the models weren't dancing down the runway to Sam's psych-pop sound like 70s crooners.

Hedi Slimane commissioned Sam to create a 20 minute extended version of the song. The show was one of the most anticipated shows of the week with a number of music notables in attendance including Beck, Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, and Sky Ferreira. But as we reviewed earlier this week, the show somewhat disappointed. However the music certainly didn't.
