as a venezuelan living in venezuela you're pretty much spot on. Like yeah, Trump isn't doing this out of the goodness of his heart, it at least is part of a reelection campaign but that doesn't make Maduro the "good guy". This isn't a movie, there's no black vs white. Plus, all the leftists/starbucks socialists/whatever saying that seem to forget all the shady dealings with Cuba, Russia and Turkey like that isn't foreign powers stealing resourses and taking advantage of the situation.
trump for sure has a specific axe to grind with maduro, which obviously has nothing to do with what’s best for venezuela and just because maduro refuses to get into bed with the u.s does not mean he’s above ‘alliances’ with other world powers like...come....on
