Mr Engie, I have a question, I know you are fire... But are you see threw fire? Like the top of a flame? Or are you.. Solid inside? Do your flames grow up from your feet or from your middle?? Is there something inside that is burning or looks like it is? Fire can be so pretty so I'm curious.

“as for your questions… oh boy, this is gonna be a little difficult to explain in human terms. sorry in advance if this gets a little lengthy.”

“fire elementals aren’t really transparent. i mean if you’re lookin through the flames on the tops of our heads, maybe a little bit?? but the rest of our bodies are kind of. opaque.”

“however, that doesn’t mean we’re. what’s the word… incorporeal? correct me if i’m wrong. basically there’s a sort of… barrier that keeps the fire part of me in and most everything else out, so if someone were to touch me with their hand, it wouldn’t just go straight through.”

“as for what i’m made of, i’ve talked about cores in this post here. general jist of it is:

as an elemental, your core is made of what’s basically pure magic and whatever element you’re made of. for fire folk, it’s (obviously) fire. your core produces more fire, which kinda fills in that barrier type thing i was talkin’ about a second ago.”

(“in addition, cause of this, a fire elemental’s internal temperature is a lot hotter than their external temperature.”)

It’s for a sentient, non-sapient domesticable digging/burrowing omnivorous species. I revamped the design and I’m worried it doesn’t look like a digging species anymore but the first design had like, no inspiration whatsoever it was just like a badger crossed with a bear. 

I’ll go ahead and include a link to the design. It would be in brown and grey colors pretty much, to blend in with rock, but I don’t want to go coloring it until I’m set on the design.
