@agentfarlow, continued from here.
His eyes glanced at her hand as she removed it from her gun, but Pietro still didn’t trust her. He kept pacing, his eyes darting around vigilantly, ready for an ambush or whatever the hell this was about. At her proposed truce for the moment, he nodded. It would take a lot for him to hit a girl anyway, but… one with a gun? Maybe. It depended on how nervous she made him with that gun and how much he thought she might actually use it on him.
She was alone, so that was good, but what she told him only made him more nervous, and now, afraid for Wanda. Hydra was gathering up its loose ends? The very thought of it made his injured right hand and arm sting. He clenched his fist and stiffened his arm to keep the muscles from spasming. He wasn’t going back to any laboratory, to any cage… and Wanda would only over his dead body.
“What proof do I have that my sister is safe and with the Avengers? Huh?” he asked, eyeing her suspiciously. “Is nice of you to say, but how do I know you are telling me the truth? How do I know that you’re not a Hydra agent and you’re going to take me right to them?” Although, if she really had been taken by Hydra previously, he was about to feel like a total jerk for challenging her. He knew all too well the horrors of their experiments and control over their captives. But if she wasn’t being straight with him, he needed to find Wanda and protect her... fast.
“You have very short time before I leave to find Wanda myself. So why should I believe you?” Although both his strong words and his stance as he finally stopped pacing were standoffish at best, his eyes seemed to be begging her to convince him. He wanted to believe that his sister was already secured and out of danger, and he didn’t want to have to fight his way out of Hydra captivity again.
