Season 2: Operation Fake Date

Meanwhile, Cat gets a call from agent Knox to inform her Vincent escaped from his cell. Cat tells Knox that it cannot be true, but he says he called to check on him and he was not there. Cat knows something is up and that Gabe must be involved.

CATHERINE: Vincent's gone. Someone must have seen that press conference and had him taken. We've been so focused on killing Beth's story, we forgot that people are still after the beast.

Vincent gives his press conference and during it, Beth asks about his altered DNA and the super soldier experiments. Beth pushes and implies his supersoldier DNA is the reason the FBI is involved. Knox, who is actually clueless about this, steps in to stop the press conference saying  "We're involved, because this is a federal case, not a plot in a comic book"

Season 2: Operation Fake Date

Our VinCat are at the park to meet with Agent Knox. As an excuse for blowing up their suburbia cover, Vincent and Catherine give Knox a  speech about them being valuable because they are a crime-solving duo. Knox is not impressed but, luckily, they get some good news. The charges against Vincent will be dropped, but he has to turn himself in.

Season 2: Ever After

Desperate and with nowhere else to go, Catherine and Vincent flee to Agent Knox’s office, the agent who they helped recently. They get scolded by Agent Knox who reminds them they must lay low because he is still trying to get exoneration for Vincent. Gabe continues to make that increasingly hard. Catherine tries to explain the situation but she  gives him a really stupid explanation about tracking, which only pisses Agent Knox more. Catherine begs for a solution. She is desperate because there is no safe place for them anymore…

CATHERINE:  Since when do FBI kidnap cops?

KNOX: That was by necessity. The NYPD was swarming all over your place by the time we got there-- look... you're just gonna have to trust me, because time is of the essence and I really need your help.

Hurrying back to a grateful Agent Knox, Vincent and Cat are dismayed to hear that the exoneration had been revoked because “someone” blocked it after a call to the DA. Of course, once again, the FBI burns our heroes and rescinds the exoneration offer, due to pressure from the DA’s office, meaning Gabe.😡😈

At least this once Muirfield wasn't involved in Cat’s disappearance. The FBI was.It’s not the first time BatB has presented the FBI in a questionable manner and our mind probably jumps right to Agent Reynolds. Despite being in a federal lock up, he still manages to pull some dangerous strings. Agent Knox (Anthony Ruivivar) identifies himself and  his partner, agent Jay Bates, as FBI Agents.Catherine seems skeptical about it.

Cat and Vincent try to come up with to FBI agent rescue  plan. Agent Knox, later, comes back with the exoneration dated for the following day, after the mission is completed.
