”I have to ask, why a café in Monaco?”
”I like coffee, and the weather here is nice,” Agent Blake replied defensively, nursing the warm liquid as the sun shone on their small little patio seating arrangement, overlooking the sea.
”Fair enough,” Brian replied, overlooking the view for a moment before he asked, “Is this what it really looks like? I mean, for real? I’ve never been to Monaco.”
”More or less, usually rained, though, when I was here,” the agent admitted with a small shrug, and as if on queue, the sky darkened, and most of the people around them seemed to vanish into houses as the rain started to fall.
”Still beautiful, even if it’s gloomy,” Brian replied before he picked up his coffee and patted the other SHIELD man on the shoulder, gesturing back to the café. “We should head inside.”
”Why? It’s only a dream.”
”Because you’re starting to smell like wet dog in this dream. C’mon. You’ll get dream rain in your dream coffee, and nobody likes that.”
Agent Blake rolled his eyes before following Brian back into the small café, not pointing out that they could merely stop the rain if they wanted. They stood side-by-side watching the rain fall on the windows, as lightning struck over the waves. The boom and rumble of the thunder a comforting sound as they sipped their drinks sparingly.
