I think that in the musical they got together during One Short Day but after Elphaba left they had to pretend it didn’t happen

I love how we all just agree the trip to Emerald City was the gayest trip ever.

I think similarly to the book, this goes mostly unspoken though? Like that phase you’re like “are we in a relationship? I mean we kissed so I guess we’re in a relationship. we’re hanging out a lot. but are we dating? do we make it official? should i bring it up or would that just ruin what’s going on right now??”

That’s also probably why they take the paths they took and are afraid to go back to one another because what if it was all in my head??

And I think that unspoken phase starts as soon as Elphaba suggest Glinda should come with her to the Emerald City. I mean One Short Day has the most scripted handtouches like wtf this is so gay. Although I do think the moment they both fell for each other is at the end of Popular. 

Like the way I imagined it with Wickedly Queer was that when Glinda hands over the mirror she sits next to Elphaba on the bed. And when she says “you’re beautiful” Elphaba looks at her and their faces are way too close wtf and they keep staring for a beat too long as they both have this internal realization until Elphaba is like “WELL FUCK. THESE ARE FEELINGS” and runs off.
