AgentReign!AU, part III (part I, part II)

Alex Worldkiller Whisperer Danvers convinced Reign to help them defeat the other Worldkillers, because without Reign they have no chance to win.

Reign lets out an agonizing scream of pain when Pestilence’s claws bury in her flesh.

She grabs her sister around the throat and hurls her as far away as she can, but the space is narrow. Against her sisters, though, her physical supremacy is less of an advantage than it used to be because they are just as strong, just as invincible as herself and the longer they fight, the heavier do Reign’s arms feel, the more does she feel every throb of every hit.

Hissing, Reign presses a hand against her side. It comes back stained and wet, though the trickle of blood coming out of the puncture wounds is nothing she cannot handle. At least for now. The pain on the other hand is new, real pain, stinging pain.

Blindly, Alex runs through the piles of gigantic rocks. She finally finds Reign who leans heavily on the Worldkiller’s altar. Her face is covered by multiple scratches, blood runs through her wounds.

The fabric is torn in several places by the Pestilence. There are smudges of blood on her suit and cloak. She is completely unlike the usual invincible Reign.

 Alex touches her shoulder with caution.

- You must stand up, do you hear me? We will lose without you.

 Right in that moment, Pestilence grabs Kara from behind, forces her arms backwards and a knee between her shoulders while Purity lands punch after punch in her face. 

 - Please, Reign, get up. We need you. I need you.

 Reign clenches her teeth and growls in pain. Alex sees how her eyes glow with red. With unhuman effort Reign forces herself to stand straight. She clenches her fists.

(part I)

- Why did we come here? And why is everyone shouting? Your rides are not scary at all, - Reign remarked with ill-concealed contempt. - This is ridiculous.

 - You refused to take off the mask and your old costume, so we didn’t have a great choice of places where you would not catch attention. Either this park or the Comic-Con, - Alex got used to such complaints. It was hard to Reign to understand the ordinary human things. But they worked toward it. - The height and speed of rides are scary for most adult and children, so they constantly shout here. Not everyone is powerful and invulnerable Kryptonian.

 - People are weak, - Reign grunted, but she looked pleased. She clearly liked the last comment. Alex struggled with the urge to roll her eyes. - But you’re not like that, Alexandra Danvers. You are the best representative of your people.

 It was still incredibly strange to hear respect with a touch of adoration in the metallic voice. Alex felt the blood rush to her cheeks.

 - My jacket suits you, - trying to hide her confusion, she touched Reign’s shoulder. - It is hot.

 - I feel neither cold nor hot, - Reign often took everything literally. Alex nearly moaned. Rao, what did she get herself into? - But I prefer you without your clothes on. - She raised an eyebrow.

 Alex almost choked. And by look of that smile of the Reign, the Kryptonian made it on purpose. She understood Alex’s flirt perfectly and decided to make fun of her.

 - Is everything okey, Agent Danvers? – Reign interested with mock concern. That smirk never left her lips. The true justice and law. Crazy Krypton witches obviously messed up something.

 - It’s all right, Agent Reign, - Alex replied by the same token, finally handle herself. And hit the target.

 - I am Reign, the Worldkiller, and not some agent in your pathetic human organization, - her eyes flashed red for a moment, but Alex didn’t look impressed. Such sudden flare of anger was common.

 - You signed a contract with DEO, - Alex said. - You go on missions with me.

 - I’m just making sure nothing happens to you. Human bodies are so fragile, - said Reign with poker face. She always did this when she was afraid to show feelings.

 - And I really appreciate that, - Alex said softly and squeezed her shoulder slightly. - Just like Sam. And Supergirl.

 Reign snorted. Her relationship with Kara remained extremely tense and sometimes it cost DEO a lot of money. Fortunately, all the damage came from Supergirl was covered by L-Corp.

 - But no one in the DEO has a clue how tender you can be, - Alex decided to tease her. She felt Reign’s body tense under her touch.

 - Don’t play with me, Alexandra Danvers. I was created to destroy worlds, and not be tender, - Reign looked at her hard, but Alex was not impressed.

 - But I think I heard your moaning and pleading yesterday when I … -  but Reign did not let her finish and pressed her against the nearest wall.

 - You’d better not end this sentence, or—

 - Or what?

 - Oh, you’ll be begging me tonight all night long. You will moan beneath me while I will tear you apart again and again, until you have the strength to move.

 And how could this metallic voice proclaiming justice and law sound so sexy?

 Alex swallowed, staring into Reign’s darkened eyes. Yes, she was the Devil indeed, Danvers thought, and she licked her dry lips.

 - Take us to my apartment. Now.
