if you don't know the person, in my experience, you follow their lead. so if they take off their shoes you do, and vice versa. if you know the person, you pretty much know what they want.

okay, so for the great shoe debate and americans, i honestly think that a lot of variables. go into it. how well you know the other person, your reason for being in the house, the season (lord if i spent 15 minutes getting snow boots on and i'm coming in for five minutes i'm not taking them off). and then, a lot of times, with like parties that are both inside/outside people leave their shoes on because it's just easier. location in the country matters too. in short, there's no one answer.

so if you DON’T know the person well you keep your shoes on?

and if you DO know them well you take them off?

i mean i guess it makes sense in the way that you’d take your shoes off to make yourself comfortable. but wearing shoes inside someone home that you don’t know i think would be way more offensive?? cause you don’t know how much of a neat freak they are and you’d make it messy

i think it’s interesting that a lot off people lift up the social aspect but i feel like here it’s just “do you want mud in your home yeah or nah”
