I'm Safer in a Firefight
Tonight was the break Arlette promised herself as she went sprinting across the rooftop of some sort of high rise. It was about her being free of work and worry and commitment to anything beyond the pursuits of her pleasures. She left her camera at home along with any of her jump drives, her wallet, and good cell phones. The only thing she had in her possession was cash, an MP3 player, and a cell phone she could live with if it broke. The only agenda she had tonight was to practice parkour until she every muscle in her body was filled with a delicious ache.
“Easily making the short jump from one roof top to the next next the brunette cut a hard right and headed for the fire escape. She had had enough of being up high for the time being and wanted to return to the group. Getting on the fire escape was simple but also the beginning of what could be her end. Two floors down it creaked ominously before it started to pull away from the building and she made a harrowing jump to a window ledge and barely caught on. While not currently plummeting to her death she was still in a precarious situation clinging to a window ledge several stories off the ground. Fuck.
“Help!!” she started shouting hoping someone would hear her before her hands gave out. Going for her phone would be too risky because it would mean clinging to the building with one hand and even then she was fuzzy on her location. “Someone please help! I don't wanna die a Jane Doe!"
