Oliver can handle a lot. He can pretend that nothing bothers him. It’s called acting, and he has awards for it. Most of the time, Oliver understands Victor’s work. He’s upset for a moment, then reminds himself it’s important, puts on a smile, and says it’s okay. But this one time, when he really needed his partner, he was nowhere to be found. What really got to him was the promise. Yet another broken promise, one he shouldn’t have believed in the first place.
He’s laying in bed, facing away from Victor. He hadn’t slept well, had woken the moment he heard the front door open. He’s tired, exhausted. “Yeah. I am right.”
