They were in a chopper, on their way to the new mission. It was only the two of them again, only Jill and Chris. It was 3 years since she was on the field and Chris was worried, even if he didn't show it. It was almost midnight, he was looking down on the woods.. then he turned and looked at her. Almost instantly a drop of sweat appeared as a nervous expression appeared on the younger woman’s face."I…I guess I usually either get called T-dog or Little foot by people who care the most about me."
The reports Kais intercepted disturbed him. Disappearances nearby. Cannibalism. Creatures sighted that seem to defy standard Earth biology.
It didn't involve him. He was safe in Haven. Himself and the guards could handle everything. But something didn't sit right with that. Could he have accidentally brought something back? Or could the humans have stolen something that they didn't know how to handle, and have created for themselves a problem they can't fix?
Leaving a note that he was gone to investigate, Kais used his stealth suit to walk his way to the old military base that was marked nearby the city. He easily burned a hole in the tall, triple layered fence. Trudging through the muck, made slick by the autumn showers, he left his suit once he was sure there was nobody around to see him. Alien encounters would not go down well.
Fitting on his combat armour, he only had his pistol with him as he slowly started to descend down into the bowels of the complex alone.
