Hi! Somehow I got fortunate enough to be having a book of NYC street photography published this fall. It’s from a fairly luscious New York City art press called Glitterati Editions. They do beautiful work.

A lot of the photos in the book (it’s 256 pages) were taken with old film cameras. Mostly black and white.

The camera here is my Agfa Isolette III. It is from the mid-1950s. It’s an uncoupled rangefinder. It takes about six laborious steps to focus and expose a single image and that’s the most fun part of using it. Well, that and the bellows. The bellows are cool and retro and make a great crinkly noise when you open them and people stop you on the street to ask about the camera. Even in NYC.
