Dan is part Enderman, so being part enderman means he can teleport, so he used that to help with training and keeping the King safe.

Of course He used it when Gav had been in the castle too long and needed a break; they’d sneak out using his teleportation and walk around the woods, greeting mobs and just talking.

Dan is very protective of the King, he loves Gavin (Platonically) and would protect him til the very end.

Gavin in return is very protective of Dan, and hates it when humans whisper awful things about his best friend/captain of the guard. If you wanna insult him, that’s fine, but the moment you try to insult someone he cares about; ho boy are you gonna be sorry

Dan was at first very suspicious of Ryan, but grew to tolerant and even befriend the so called Mad King, they joked a lot about stealing Gav away but it was all in good jest

Gavin trusted no one more than Dan (and Meg), and confided in him what he wouldn’t even tell his fiancé.

Dan and Gavin were childhood friends, and when Gavin was chosen to be the successor, Dan trained hard to be able to stay by his best friend’s side

When the incident happened, Dan was reminded why he didn’t care for humans. He was taught that humans killed what they feared and mocked what they did not understand, and after the incident it seemed those lessons held true

Even in Monster form, Gavin never harmed any mobster or half mobster and so Dan never had any fear Gav would hurt him
