♥ 7thyear!Rily (which reminds me, going to go follow them now)
Gives nose/forehead kisses: Ryder. He’s taller, so he’s got the advantage. It also happens a lot when they’re cuddled up in their blanket fort, which yes, they totally still do, even as seventh years.
Gets jealous the most: It’s equal, but over different things. Ever since he failed potions, he’s been kind of jealous of the fact that Lily still has all these doors open to her and he doesn’t know what to do with his future, not really, with a job as an Auror no longer an option. Lily’s more prone to getting jealous of the way other girls talk about Ryder — not because she thinks he’ll do anything, she just isn’t a fan of hearing other people talk as if they’d ever be with Ryder instead of her.
Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive: Not an issue, since they’re magical, but Lily drinks less anyway, so usually she’s the one coming to get Ryder when he’s been out with Jake. She’ll usually side Apparate him home, because he’s heavy and if he falls asleep there’s no guarantee she can keep him on a broom, and he’s bad enough at using Floo Powder when he’s not slurring his words.
Takes care of on sick days: Both. They go into super-mode anytime something’s wrong with the other, and being sick’s no exception. Lily’s better about bringing food and medicine (not Ryder’s strong suit, since he thinks the answer to everything is bacon and energy drinks), and Ryder’s better about providing moral support as a human pillow who’s not afraid of getting coughed and sneezed on.
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: Ryder. After Lily’s bad run in with the water when she was younger, he’s been trying his best to help her get more comfortable with it. He’s careful to never push her too far, but he’s always the one who has to take the initiative if he wants her to get anywhere near the water.
Gives unprompted massages: Lily. She can sense as soon as Ryder starts to get stressed, and she’ll just go for it to try and calm him down. It usually happens when big Quidditch games are coming up, since he was named Captain of the team after Finn graduated.
Drives/rides shotgun: Sometimes they go out on trips in Ryder’s dad’s car when they want to explore the Muggle world and pretend they’re just average teenagers. Ryder’s the one who actually learned how to drive because it was a father/son bonding thing, so he takes the wheel and Lily’s his passenger, usually in charge of music and snacks.
Brings the other lunch at work: Ryder still gets his work done a little slower because of dyslexia, and he’s the one more likely to be spending a lunch period in the library getting stuff done. Lily always notices when he doesn’t turn up at the Hufflepuff table and goes to take him food, especially if there’s something with bacon on the table.
Has the better parental relationship: Neither? Both would say they’ve got loving, supportive families overall, but Ryder’s relationship with his mom is still a little bit strained sometimes, especially given that he missed his shot at being an Auror like her and is convinced he disappointed her. Meanwhile, Lily’s relationship with her parents seems okay on the outside, but she definitely questions some of the choices that her dad has made during the war, which makes it hard for her to trust him completely like she once did.
Tries to start role-playing in bed: Though they’ve gotten more physical than they were, they’re still very tame. The weirdest they get is someone forgetting that it’s weird to say ‘Squawk’ in the middle of a make-out session.
Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Neither. They’re both terrible dancers, drunk or sober, but they have fun and they’re not embarrassed by it, and that’s what really counts.
Still cries watching Titanic: Lily. Titanic’s so long, and Ryder kind of zones out and starts playing Pokemon during a lot of the parts of it. Plus, ever since he watched Myth Busters, he’s been too mad at Rose for not letting Jack onto the board too to get emotional over the movie.
Firmly believes in couples costumes: Both. They’re always in matching costumes, and each year they get more ridiculous than the last. For their final Halloween Ball at Hogwarts, they literally dressed up as Simba and Nala, showing up covered in fake lion fur and everything.
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: They’re more into sentimental gifts than into expensive ones, but at the end of the season, both have broken the rule. Ryder likes to gather a lot of little things that remind him of Lily and doesn’t keep track of the total they’re all adding up to, whereas if Lily finds something she thinks is a good gift for Ryder, it’s the one time she doesn’t feel guilty using her family name (and money), to her advantage, because seeing Ryder happy matters more.
Makes the other eat breakfast: Ryder never passes up a chance to eat, and it’s easier for him to roll out of bed and go straight to the great hall anyway. If he notices Lily’s having a hard time getting out of bed that morning (usually after a long night of nightmares keeping her up), he’ll grab a few of her favorite things and smuggle them to her in class.
Remembers anniversaries: Both. They’ve got tons of weird made up anniversaries, too, so it feels like they’re practically always celebrating something. Ryder pays more attention to things like ‘First time Lily caught the Snitch in a Quidditch game’ day, though, focusing more on times when he’s really proud of her, whereas Lily’s the one that remembers the exact day of the first time she said she loved him, the first time she kissed him, etc.
Brings up having kids: They’ve been talking about what they’re going to name their babies basically since the day they started dating, although Lily seems to talk about it more — Ryder still blames her for the fact that they’ve promised like 12 different friends they’ll name children after them.
