Dear Diary,
Last year I was so disappointed that I took Divination. Not because I wasn’t interested in the subject, but because Professor Loki really is as terrifying as everyone says he is. He throws crystal balls around the classroom and yells at people for their “visions” and he just isn’t at all a pleasant professor.
But it’s only a month into the new year, and it’s been so much better since Mr. Yaxley started being his teaching assistant. He’s got a way with words that makes everyone in the class feel more comfortable, even when they have no clue what they’re doing. And he seems so smart! I can’t believe someone with such an incredible mind would waste his time coming back to Hogwarts.
I went into his office hours today to ask for help with my star chart predictions, because I’m struggling a little bit with those, and he helped me soooo much! Never once did he make me feel stupid or inferior, even though I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t blame most alumni for looking down on students like that.
I think this year is going to be much better! I’m so glad Mr. Yaxley’s here, I should write him a thank you note at the end of the year so that hopefully he’ll come back again next year, too, and every year until I graduate so I can always enjoy Divination this much.
