Leslie is running as fast as his waddles run can take him. When he senses danger he's on the defense and with the crash leaving him disoriented his defenses are at its highest point.

"Hide. . .hide hide hide." He repeats over and over as he finds somewhere to hide. Where can he hide? This place is all trees and every single cricket and branch cracking leaves him flinching and waddling even faster.

Something grabs at his leg and trips him as he land on the floor with a thud and whimper and a hitching of his breath.
