Ruby was fuming (as usual) over something completely irrelevant. “Opal, we don’t have any cereal left!” She complained loudly, slamming the door of the pantry. Muttering to herself, she paced around the kitchen. “First the milk, and now this, this is ridiculous! I’m a gem warrior, and I can’t even have cereal in the morning? This is how the planet thanks me?”

Peridot fell back only a few seconds after the knife thudded into her chest, eyes wide, and tears streaming down her cheeks. She tried to pull the knife out, but it was wedged, and she was already weakening. The pain was awful, and she knew she was only a few moments away from retreating into her Gem. “D-don’t harm my Gem-” She didn’t get to finish her desperate plea for mercy, before she poofed, only able to hope she wasn’t destroyed.
